ok.....heres something that looks totally unorthadox..... These are the first Africans I owned and got them cause "they look purty" so normal substrate, driftwood and probably bout 7.4ish ph :oops:

If ya gonna keep the Brichardi try and aim for 7-7.2......... I'm not sure exactly wot ph the others like but im guessing its 6.8ish........ speaking from experience Brichardi will breed in a ph of 7 so if you can keep it there........

I have some cone snails that migrated with one of me filters I reckon :oops: My Duboisi has held snails in with her eggs the past 2 holds?? The last batch was the big one fry I dont know why but I think I may have to strip her and get whatever is left this time.... Would actually like more than just one fry :roll:

Perhaps you could cut up a drink bottle(2L) in the shape of a hill and do what GZ loach said and silicone some substrate to that........
