If you are able to go to a local paint shop ask them if they have any oil based paints that are mistints that way it would be cheaper and you might find a colour you want to. Or see what bunnings has to offer :roll:

The female can change colours as well sometimes. But usually it will be just the male that will change.

If you definately know wot you have then maybe its the dominant female.......... Surely it cant have a mouth full of eggs already and is trying to get the heat off?

The cyathopharynx furcifer looks good but cyathopharynx foae looks better dont you think? But hey thats my opinion and yeah those Zaires look awesome 8)

Sounds like she is holding to me the easiest way if you can to check is to look in her mouth when she is breathing and see if you can spot some yellow eggs moving about. Good Luck dude.

as long as you rinse them good and shake them clean in your tank water when doing a water change they will last along time. When I used these filters I only got a new one after I cleaned it and then would shake it to see if the media inside still moved, if it didn't make a sound I would buy a new one.

It's probably only necessary if your water parameters arent quite where they should be I believe, somebody correct me if I am wrong. But you can make your own "african rift lake salt". Have a look at this site: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/buffer_recipe.php

You could stain it if you get someone to colour up the putty or filler you use. If you go to a paint shop see if they can give you a sample of Resenes Pohutakwa. Red/Maroon would be my choice.
