  1. I personally think that if this was any other cichlid it would have the same name at the most having a variant attached to it if it is only a spot that makes them different. Look at Africans like Neolamprologus Pulcher and Brichardi apparently we are suppose to call both of them Pulcher I beleive and they have more than a spot between them.

    Avaibly in nz?

Like Ryan said make sure you look at the fish and make sure it is "Kingsizei" because ones that I have seen importes are Socolofi. Afra would be a good replacement though, I believe aae1 has them breeding he comes to Auckland regurarly. Havent seen the others meself I beleive that Janine had/has the female Saulosi mentioned.
  3. This is what I mean by "fashion" these fish were like $20-40 say a year or 2 ago from shops not "mates rates". Seriously dont understand the price when others had them, I guess they died or they didnt have ratios or big enough tank?
  4. Perhaps you could have some Pulchers or Brichardi with them? Just saw you wanted to sell them so these guys probably wouldn't be that good I think at the moment Demasoni might be the only ones you could sell. Unless you sell them to alot of different shops for not much $ thats my 2cents anyway. Fish can be like fashion different sp. come in and out its all a matter of time
  5. Exactly wot mine did when I had one
  6. Yeah I want to get one too  Thats why I thought I would have a stab and ask if anyone had seen one. I'm also guessing that you can ask brooklands to get one in for ya since its on there fish list
  7. Anyone seen one out there? or got one of these dudes? http://www.brooklands.co.nz/tropical/green_knife.htm
  8. It's about time these fish got "back on the shelves as it were" really would want to get some meself :bounce: Good luck with yours David Btw does your chocolate do much?

    Breeding Leleupi

Hey Goodstuff Callum good to hear you got them breeding
  10. Any good oil based undercoat would be a good start with one or two top coats of a oil based paint on top, allowing a day in between top coats. As acrylic paints would fail alot sooner. Or like HaNs said "or even use epoxy seal if your anal about leeching"
  11. Hey good stuff guy's hope it all continues to go well for ya :bounce:
  12. Great looking Duboisi guy's :bounce: Wish all of mine were that big  I have about 17 ranging from 1cm to 10cm but I dont have a male/female ratio like that, thats real good :bounce:

Livebearer traps are ok, but there is alot of diy ones out there too and are probably better if you wana make one. Bummer bout the 6 though I know what that is like I put 6 in with some yellow fry and a small female yellow and they all got picked on and were gone. As you say its all a learning curve  I'm gonna see if mine can breed and spit in the same tank from now on and see what happens when they get down to bussiness again since I have moved them into a new tank.
  14. Show off  Good luck 8)
  15. Yip Ryan is pretty much on the money 8) Just feed them up once you have a pair with a flat rock in the tank so they have somewhere to lay eggs and they will do the rest for you. When you put the rock in the tank they will probably find somewhere else to spawn  When I had a pair they looked after the fry as well but not sure if they all do that though.
  16. I reckon we all got our fingers and whatever else we can cross so this can happen for you rcon :bounce:
  17. Hey man looking good Rcon :bounce: We are all hoping that all goes well

  19. How are the the firefox going jo/willy? Do they look like anything yet? Moliro maybe?
  20. I got some off malawi_man im not feeding my fish with it everyday yet just every now and then as a treat not to sure if I want to feed them it everyday as it is good stuff  But it sure is gonna last a hell of a long time :bounce: For your money it has to be good value too i reckon.
  21. All Neolamprologus would love them I would imagine since most of them if not all are carnivorous? I think most people on CF seem to be feeding their fry on it as well some just dont feed it as much when they get older, I think their reason is of what Evil mentioned at the start. But then if in moderation and you dont notice anything wrong with them.......
  22. Awesome stuff mate hope everything works out for ya And man is she full If she can keep more than 6 for the distance that's impressive!
  23. Sounds like you are describing Brichardi their gill plates look like this )- and the Pulchers are like this )) I'm never gonna call them both Pulchers
