    Paradise Fish

you would need to study them for awhile, and watch each ones behaviour, then pick the one that isn't doing the bullying. but if you have a well planted tank and keep them fed you should be okay to place them in together - your danios are also not slow moving so they would also divert attention.

    Paradise Fish

as you mentioned Threadfin Rainbows are fast but if you are wanting to put paradise fish in - you will need to give the rainbows room to get away and if need be hide, so provide places to hide - this could be done with planting tall or bushy plants. it will also come down to individual paradise fish - some are more aggressive than others.

    Paradise Fish

paradise fish can be aclimatised to either cold or tropical tanks. - I currently have two pairs in my five foot tropical community tank which houses a number of different types of gourami from Kissing to Croaking and sizes in between - they are not bothering anybody and in fact one pair is attempting to blow a bubble nest. Male paradise fish are idenfied by their long flowing tales and are brighter in colour than females.

    Peacock ID

the first fish will be impossible to id till he shows a bit more colour, the second looks to me a lot like a copadicromis azureus.its the shape of the forehead but that could just be camera angle.
  6. or as Caryl is looking for articles for the next aquarium worl - you could send her an article and pictures then we would all have the info to hand when needed.
  7. WOW, they are impressive. don't worry about the glass, the fish are the important things. How many offspring do you have? what are you planning with them?
  8. i hope mine look just like daddy, just starting to show good colour now. i wait ...............
  9. I would not add the honey gourami's to this mix as they are small fish and will stay small. means that they would eventually end up as a feed for one of your bigger fish.
  10. ouch,ouch,........i'm sure you uttered a few other descriptive terms. you could always drop a lid on ther other one and go for a top up!!
  11. ive just got some 2cm ones.the young have the same patterning as the adults minus any colour.you will be able to see the distintive giraffe patterning, even at 2cms my ones markings are very clear
  12. the one i saw reminded me of a ''red shouldered dragons blood''mix .is your one showing any colour on the shoulders at all?,will be interesting to see if there is much of a colour variation between them, line bred fish could mean a lucky dip.colour wise.there is no proper name,as far as i know.
  13. to all existing members and those that would like to come and see what being in a club means - come along tonight.
  14. congradulations Chris and Belina - looked like a great day and sunrise! hope that a great time was had by all, and that you had/have a wonderful honeymoon.
  15. Thanks Kevin, you bet me to it. At this meeting we would like to discuss ideas for meetings throughout the year. we also would like to know what "other" entertainment you would like to do as a club. so put your thinking caps on and bring your ideas along to the meeting. and to all those that live in the region and haven't yet joined a club - come along and join in.
  16. glad to see that I'm not the only one going mad . I had a case exactly like that - only bristlenoses in a tank - took everything out and could only count 5 (should have been 6), thought oh well that's life, then a few weeks later thought will rearrange the tank and low and behold I could now count 6. have no idea what happened but glad that the "6" had turned up. :bounce:

  19. just spotted this.good to see another african convert.demasoni and yellows seem to be the flavour of the month, when you see the colour mix its easy to see why.awesome tank.is this the first of many? glenn
  20. you have nothing to worry about, the fact that you are looking says you have decided it is time to move.it dosn't matter what the reason is for it it is just the right time.yes it is very flattering to have your employer say,but i don't want you to go have some more $$$,if you are worth x dollars to stay you should be on that now.but if personal satisfaction is the reason then in my books happiness can,t be bought.if you are not happy then you have nothing to feel guilty about
  21. i think they could be copadichromis azureus's,we all wait with anticipation.i havn't heard of it happening in nz before.but hey if it dosn't happen the first time the intention was there. awesome photos too.thank you for sharing.
  22. Snookie that is a fab looking fish - not bad photo either
  23. I would suggest "googling" to see if you can come across the infection that you have - most sights that idenfy the fungal infection will also give you information on how to treat.
  24. By that stage of growth - if they where males you should see some sort of "bristles" so sounds like you have all females. but that is good get a male or two and he will keep them happy.
