slappers
westly do you have egg crates under all that nice looking rock ???
westy1
Thanks Paul,Yes, there is black eggcrate sitting on grey pvc feet under that rock, cut at the front to shape.Spraybar at the lower back blows H20 forward underneath.Sand covers front only making it a bit easier to maintain. wasp
Hmmm.. That's a good idea, BB back but still the nice look of sand at the front. Another new thought for my next tank!
chimera
that's what i have too, but still get a slow buildup of detritus under the rack - only in areas that the spray bar doesnt quite reach  when i plan to go to a 6x2.5 footer in-wall (next year), Im going to have everything covered. plenty of lessons learn from the first tank design. been looking at other ideas on the web plus a few of my own ingenious ideas that will make my next tank awesome! skuzza
I dont know how the car got on there. When finished my post it was a front shot of the fish tank. :-?
reef
reef the tank looks heaps better now with a bit less rock. Actually i think my tank looked better last year. Maybe it look better because my big leathers last year made my tank more photographic.

Fay
Reef: Tanks are personal: Don't go with the flow, go with what you like Personal preference for me is full tank lots of rock so I haven't gone for the less rock look Why look at the back wall when you can look at rock and corals

Feelers
Hey guys I was just wondering whether you would consider- base rock that has been left in the ocean (locally), and cooked and aclimitised to tropical conditions, - "real live rock"? Obviously the organisms found would be quite different to the ones on rocks livened up in a tank, can you tell the difference?
ghostface
may be a good experiment.... id imagine it would be pretty different though
