GrahamC
You see oil slicks around the boats when they are berthed at the wharf. But I'm guessing it doesn't really matter as it's a surface contaminant, and if you only use the water below the surface, it should be good. F15hguy
I collect from near a marina, never had an issue. (tide is quite strong there) would tend to stay away from the fueling berth though
blueether
Partial water change. Big tank then, that is some one million and twenty five thousand kg of water...

GrahamC
Side note: 1000 cubic metres is 1000 IBCs. Makes it easy to measure the water you're taking so that you don't go over your daily limit.
Ira
wouldn't it be cheaper for the person buying it to drive to the beach??? For me it was a little cheaper, if you don't take into account that it's about 3 hours out of the day, $30-40 worth of fuel, only can get water on nice days that there hasn't been rain for a few days on incoming tide when not working usually a weekend nothing more immediate that needs done... For me that ended up with only being able to get water every few months over winter, a bit more frequently over summer.

GrahamC
I see a number of LFS do sell NSW in the USA. I guess it's easier for their customers than having to wait for a nice day and an incoming tide with a bucket. No different I guess from the corner dairy etc selling bottled water.
