GrahamC
well, that was a long one .. about a minute or so. None of my tanks lost any water but they did get a bit of extra aeration with the surface agitation! Joe
Like I said on the What's Up? thread - the water almost sloshed right out of my tanks! I was considering doing a top-up today because of evaporation. I'm so, so glad that I didn't now.

supasi
Gotta love the "wellington " Quake that the news is going on about. Taranaki is hardly Wellington.

Caryl
No water out of the tank here but boy the plants were swinging! I also had an empty clothes horse in the lounge and it bounced across the floor. I hope there is not too much damage in the Taranaki region. A friend across town said he had stuff fall off shelves. GrahamC
My dog is well trained .. he hid under the coffee table while I was under the dining room table! :slfg:
supasi
No damage here, just a few rattling plates and glasses, Tanks sloshing ( thank god for lids). Due to the direction no books from shelves, but they did move a bit. All I was worried about was it waking my Boy up. He still sleeping so no worries. I wonder what got damaged at work, if anything? phoenix44
OMG really? Sitting in another country I don't even know if my tanks are all good
Ymir
Well that was a bit of fun. Water sloshing in tank and 2 broken wine classes. Nothing to complain about when you compare it to chch. Thankfully it was a deep one.
Ira
A minute? Felt more like maybe 10-15 seconds, Might barely have even noticed it if it wasn't for the building creaking.
GrahamC
I read on stuff that it lasted 30 seconds ..but it felt more like a minute!
twinkles
Felt like a minute here. First couple of seconds I thought the dog was scratching on the bed, it was that sort of heavy rocking. Then I remembered he wasn't even in the room and dived out of bed. Hovered over mr2 in his cot, didn't know if we should run outside or what, then it stopped. Lights and everything outside kept moving for a while, my bird kite that hangs on the ceiling was zooming around the room lol. When nothing else happened I came and turned the computer back on to see where it was, did cross my mind that maybe it the was the finale for chch. GrahamC
Guess the lesson is .. make sure all your tanks have lips, or, don't fill to the very top if you don't want to clean up a mess after a quake.
