GrahamC
It says only fish listed in part D, appendix 1 are permitted.
Ira
Part D: APPENDIX ONE contains a list of the ornamental fish and marine invertebrates eligible for importation into New Zealand. I'm not going to quote the 40 page list of allowed species.
Squirt
Aww why not? :slfg: so it is still only limited.

Li@m
There is some really valuable reading on the BioSecurity website if you care to have a look. Or if you can find it on that terribly designed website.
marinefish4life
i want to know illegal fish
Adrienne
i want to know illegal fish If they are not on the 'allowed list' then they are not legally allowed in the country. Therefore if you know the name of a fish and it is not on the list then it is illegal. Why do you want to know what is illegal - there would be literally 1000's of fish in this category. One thing to remember though - just because they are on the allowed list it does not necessarily mean that they have been or are in the country. Some of these fish are very expensive and would have such a small market that it is not viable for importers to bring them in to NZ.
alanmin4304
Also the importers make a living by importing fish and many of the approved fish are difficult or expensive to get through quarantine so they just don't bring them in. It is also getting more difficult to get fish through quarantine as maf reqirements increase on some species.

Adrienne
Not so, if they are on the allowed list then they would have been in the country, My apologies - I stand corrected.
alanmin4304
Above is true but also true is that there are a lot of fish that are approved for import but are not for variety of reasons.
