Copper Skinks?

As i understand, these Skink are endemic to New Zealand so therefore arnt they protected so it is illegal to touch that garden now? However i could be wrong

Judging from it being Livingart and the glass in one of the pictures I'm reasonably confident that he has kidnapped them from the wild and imprisoned them in some kind of tank or terrarium so they are no longer in a garden. :)

partial shed or near shed may make it look blue

coppers and rainbows come in a variety of shades, freckles and colours

as i understand it the only sure way of telling rainbow skinks from copper skinks is by looking at the head scales, the copper skink has two smaller scales in the centre while the rainbow skink has single large scale in the centre
