calculator
Why when ever I go to study do I always end up doing tank maintenance instead? I swear that in the last week of trying to study my tanks have had more stuff done to them then they have had done all year.
Adrienne
If you can't resist the urge leave the house and go to the local library. That way you can not be tempted. Its called ''lack of willpower"

Its called ''lack of willpower" Nearest library is 30 minute drive away, so that wont work. Obviously I have no will power then... :slfg: +1 did 1hr study today, a full tank maintainence of 6 hrs  That sounds allot like my day today, not good considering i was supposed to do a full day of study

aquariumbeginner32
LOL I don't even have 'study' .. just housework and taking care of the kids. And I would still rather clean my fish tank/sit and watch the fish than do the housework lol

Adrienne
I think those of you with exams need to get yourself sorted - unless you intend to devote your life to the breeding of tropical/marine fish and/or plants then you need to settle down and study. Its how well you pass your exams that is going to determine the rest of your lives, the sort of jobs you get and how much money you make. (and yes I am a mother of 3 young adults, the youngest a Year 13 and yes she does get the same lecture)
Squirt
Yeah like my karate teacher tells me, get my priorities sorted! School, then fun, then more school!
akaxo
as long as you are getting enough study done and at the very least thinking about the material you are studying while doing your water changes etc you should be all good. i think everyone who has studied is familiar with the procrastination that can occur. i know my house is at it's cleanest around exam time... aquariumbeginner32
Yeah I wish my parents gave me lectures. They never said a thing and I didn't do that well at school. I don't really have any qualifications. Just School Certificate and Sixth Form certificate. I regret not trying harder now. But I do believe it's never too late. My mum didn't do that well at school either but she studied after leaving school through correspondence and has good qualifications now. And then, sometimes they really mean nothing IMO My husband who has no real qualifications outside of high school, like me, and he earns more than my mum :dunno: Another thing that sucks... student loans .... you get a huge student loan to qualify to do something like nursing, and then can't even find a job, so have to move overseas to pay off your student loan. There aren't enough jobs available. And also I believe people should do what makes them happy, not what their parents/anyone else wants them to do. Stella
To be honest studying before an exam doesn't make a huge lot of difference, it is the amount of work you do during the year that matters. Revision certainly helps, but learning new stuff won't make much difference.
