I won't be telling you anything new Livingart, but I imagine he wasn't as pleasant to the person who took him as they expected and has been not so nicely treated. He will be wary of humans at first but hopefully will realise that you are not the person responsible for hurting/scaring him and will be happy to return to his mate, and the good food that you give him which he knows and loves.
