Mcculloch
Hey there after looking at spoons Nano thread I thought I should put up some pictures of my own. Its situated in my wife's shop so it had to look good or else id be in trouble. Here are some pic's of it in the early stages of set-up I cycled/cooked the rock in a bucket for about 2 months prior to setting up the actual tank. Voldemort the clownfish The skimmer media chamber and return Pump. The lights. And a couple of whole tank shots. I will endevour to put more photos up as it has been running for about 3 months now. Joe
Does he (the clownfish) use his evil magic to make the tank dirty and pretend he is sick so you can flush him down the loo like on Finding Nemo?
Mcculloch
If by evil magic you mean clownfish poo than yes he does make the tank dirty

fraserd
Hi, did you ever have any problems with the tank heating up? what temp do you run your tank at? hope you don't mind me asking where you got your tank from?
Mcculloch
The tank is a little bit hot right now sitting on about 28-30 during the day I'd like it a lot cooler more like 24 Corals all seem ok though. I got the tank from hff but its modded for a marine set up I bought it as a standard 60L hailea tank.
spoon
put a few 12v computer fans in the hood get at least 80mm ones if you can fit them as they are quieter than 45mm ones
Mcculloch
Yeah thought of that, the problem is most of the lid is curved so its hard to fit them in neatly also researched Peltier cooling but put that into to hard basket. Just going to stick a desk fan next to it with the lid open. We have another clownfish in there now a girlfriend for voldemort my significant other has named her ursula. tHEcONCH
Because glass is a rubbish insulator, one of the easiest ways to cool the tank is to simply get air movement over the whole thing - I have a single large fan in the corner of my fishroom that just blows air about over the tanks and out the door into the hallway - it has proved far more effective than little fans in the hoods - the only issue with a nano is that you'll have to keep an eye on the water level and salinity due to evaporation. Brennos
Any chance of some pics of what you did to mod the tank. If its simple enough I will buy one next week for a desk tank. 1 clown, 1 shrimp, 1 beer. And I'm happy.
Mcculloch
Thought I might post some pic's of what the tank looks like now had a mild disaster in the form of a tank leak about 5 months back had to move everything and re silicone the tank lost some of the corals so this is what it looks like since then.
