FishBen
Hope the seller doesn't decide to dump said fish in a river to try and avoid punishment from DOC

Ira
Dumping said fish will lead to a bigger punishment I'd imagine Couple years in jail and couple hundred thousand dollar fines.
waterlogged
thats if he gets cought dumping. though would have thought for the seller just freezing them then using for compost would be easier. specially if it was someone who had no clue as some do
Joshlikesfish
Couple years in jail and couple hundred thousand dollar fines. Releasing fish that could potentially exterminate all our native species only gets you that :-? You would think it could be more

Aquila
Does the seller even know why his auction was pulled? Did anyone report him/her to DoC of MAF before the auction was pulled? I mean its great that TradeMe stopped it, but if he doesn't know what he was doing wrong then he'll either just sell the fish privately or chuck them in a local waterway. That's what I was wondering... How will they ever know what the problem was/is with selling them? They may just assume someone took offence to the sale so reported them for no real reason. paul_r
im thinking since hes from huntly area he could have fished them out of the river in the first place and had no clue re legalities etc
Caryl
For all we know they could be common goldfish but the seller has no idea of differences :-?
