Barrie
="Insect Direct" Amazing bird even more amazing at 2.30 in the morning on a cloudless night They use to "visit" at about that hour at a friends place on the Barrier. Keep in mind that these were boys weekends away and 2.30 was about the time we had finish all the scallops and half the fish we had caught as well as the liquid to wash it down. Kakas are one of my favorites as well but not when hung over as they dont give up
danval
Wow! Such a beautiful bird! Have seen a hungry one feeding on Banksia in Hamilton once and also one in Kanuka on the Mount TeAroha fringe but are becoming rare in areas that are not frequently trapped for vermin!. jn
It never ceases to amaze me that animals KNOW when they're being helped. Just awesome that they're so clever. Hope it recovers soon (and good on you!)

phoenix44
I kind of know the bird vets. One is Lisa, and I'm forgetting the other ladys name but I sold her java fern for her tank. I think she is the HOD. She likes rusty too. Want me to go talk to them tomorrow? Jennifer
Yes, talk to Bret Gartrell, or my good friend Bridey in the wildlife ward (you may recognise them from the Wild Vets tv show). You will hardly find anyone better. http://ivabs.massey.ac.nz/staff_indiv.asp?id=

Jennifer
Its a pretty clean break LA, I would guess they would have good success fixing it. Fingers crossed. Keep us updated! P44, say hi to Bridey for me.
