Central Fishkeepers Visit to Feilding and Bulls

Today we went and saw tanks from our Feilding member Aquaplod, and Bulls members Ryanjury and Bilbo.

We started in Feilding where Aquaplod had a huge 8 foot African Cichlid tank. The tank is so big that there is an electric hoist to lift the lid on and off for maintainance.

We were treated to coffee and sausage rolls and cake while we sat back and viewed the tanks.

We then headed to Bulls to visit Bilbo and his fishroom.

The room was not big enough for all so we waited our turn.

Next we went to Ryanjury's place to look at his large collection of African Cichlids and other various fish.

Ryans fishroom was almost bursting at the seams with tanks

Any of you other who were there who took photos, please post them up. :D

Have you thought of starting one Carlos?

Ours isnt so much a club, rather a group of fish geeks who meet once a month.

Very informal but its fun

What a cool trip and way to meet people... thanks heaps to those who let us invade their houses. What a lot of lovely people you all are and very keen to share your knowledge with me and others... Special thanks to Bilbo for the girl BN... she's settled in already!! Taken over the boys log actually. Hehe. How often do those tank visits happen guys?

next month is an important and what we hope to be a crucial meeting in palmerston north.

the month after that is the tank crawl in palmerston north and surrounding (perhaps)

then meeting in palmy, month after;

then tank crawl in wellington the following month.

Yeah so far the tank crawls haven't happened that often mainly because we are only just starting out as a club but we hope to make them more regular as we get more sorted :) Anyone is always welcome to visit here if they are coming through Bulls though..

Jelz glad you found a female bristlenose I had one here for you too but you disappeared lol.

Hiya Ryan, I did say bye, we had to get back as I had work... Would much rather of stayed and socialised with you guys but gotta pay for all these fish somehow :P I can still take her off your hands if you like? I'm sure the boy wouldn't mind having a Harem like Bilbo's boy has :)

Great pics! Looks like you all had a good time. Next time you take photos, suggest to those in front that they shift, duck, suck in the gut, move the bum, lean left or whatever etc etc etc

What was the little guy near the pond? He looks like he is sitting on a can but I don't think he is a gnome.

Thanks to all those that opened their homes to us. There were some very nice tanks and some very nice dogs/birds for us to play with.

I was very impressed by all the tanks we had the pleasure to see and will be embarrassed when you all come to us.

No need for embarrassment. Look at it as a boost to the enthusiasm and creativity. You now have time to perk yours up a bit (if they really need it) before they visit. Nobody seems to think their tank is worthy of viewing, which is a shame as there is nothing wrong with them
