Slightly Blue Dalmation
ooo, what tropheus can we get for a reasonable price in nz?
phoenix44
dubosis are only like 20bucks a piece, ikolas are 30. I like the dubosis the best (yellow band) maybe cheaper for a bulk deal?

Slightly Blue Dalmation
how many would fit like 10-12?
phoenix44
you should get at least 12 or so. more in a 300L tank. I would overstock them - good filtration- and then sell the naughty ones as you like later on.
smidey
alot more than that, they don't get to big as adults. I would go for 2 types, moliro & duboisi & get a dozen of each ($ allowing). They may grow up to 5 inches or so but IME take a while to get to that. the bigger the group the better as they are very conspecific aggressive. Its best to get a dozen or more of each type. Slightly Blue Dalmation
oh cool we can get moliro in nz? sounds more expensive than duboisi
smidey
oh cool we can get moliro in nz? sounds more expensive than duboisi yeah, bulu points & ikola are also available. none of them are cheap & combining that with having to get a dozen at a time they are tough on the pocket to set up. if you get 6 you will quickly start loosing them. i made that mistake in the beginning & when i got another 6 i have ad no further losses in a year or so. Slightly Blue Dalmation
How would brichardi and julii's go if lots of rockwork and right ratios?
ryanjury
You could quite easily do those 2 in a 300L tank, but you could also quite easily stick them in your other tank
Slightly Blue Dalmation
well yes, but the other tank has a few too many inhabitants for that, plus brichardi(or daffodili if there are some around) i have a soft spot for them and theyre much cheaper than tropheous being a poor student and all I was thinking 6 or 8 julii from youngins, and 12 or so young brichardi?
