LYNDYLOO
I'm looking for a Plant that grows quite Tall, to go into my AR620T Community Tank. Any suggestions Guys?? I was thinking maybe something like Indian Fern might be quite good, really not wanting anything that goes all scraggly.

BikBok
how tall does it need to be? Indian Fern grows really fast and I am, forever having to trim it back because it does get bushy. I used cuttings from it for my second second tank too. It can be planted or free floating. I think it grows to about 50cm. this is what it looks like, mine hasn't reached full height yet. Southerrrngirrl
I've been thinking about properly planting my tank. It has plants of all sorts at the moment which are growing fine but they grow where they want to grow, not where I put them! I have some twisted val that took a long time to come away. I originally planted behind the driftwood, as a sort of background plant but somehow its migrated to the front. And its now quite tall, suppose I could cut it. But I don't want to cos its all twisty & pretty.. Oh I also have some sort of dwarf sag? too that is slowly creeping its way around the tank. As for the other plants, no idea what they are (LFS doesn't label them) but they are broad leaved plants so have suffered greatly at the hands (or mouths rather!) of the bristlenoses. These plants are mostly stalks all the way up as the bristlenoses have eated all the leaves off. Its like a jungle really. So my question is what are some fine leaved plants that bristlenoses won't eat, and don't require good lighting??
LYNDYLOO
Ok just did a search on the Crypto, Not sure I'm liking it, reminds me of a fancy sort of Val. How tall will Indian Fern Grow?? I got some Rotala from Animates on their Fun Day, not sure if I'm liking that either
LYNDYLOO
Think I wouldn't mind trying some of the ones Alan recommended, ambulia, and cabomba, might have to see if Phoenix can order me some in.
whetu
... So my question is what are some fine leaved plants that bristlenoses won't eat, and don't require good lighting?? Anubias will fit both of those requirements. It's a slow-growing plant that needs low light and fish tend not to eat the leaves. At least they don't eat the older leaves (which are very tough) although they might still eat the soft new shoots!
Southerrrngirrl
Thanks Whetu
