Adrienne
Having seen these in the lfs in the last week does anyone know anything about them? It appears that the lyre tail is not a recognised tail type as my google search has only pulled up one mention of them.
Aaron-Betta
They are just doubletails I am guessing it's HFF?
bronze-dragon
there have been a few nice lyre/split/ double tails down here lately. some have been quiet pretty and not too expensive.
Aaron-Betta
I think doubletails where the split doesn't reach the peduncle would be lyretails?
Adrienne
so I'm guessing then that these are doubletails from veiltails. I purchased one out of interest and it looks nothing like the double tail male I used to have. He was like a halfmoon with the 180 degree spread but with the split down the middle - this is him . Aaron-Betta
judging by the dorsal base size being similar to the anal fin suggests dt genes?
Adrienne
that pic is of the original dt male I purchased. The one I got yesterday looks like the one thats on tm atm so thats why I was trying to find out why it was called a lyre tail instead of a dt. Aaron-Betta
the fish in the pics are from american breeders. we have the ability to breed nice fish here, just need dedication, a basic understanding of genetics, a goal, and patience
Ashzbetta
the fish in the pics are from american breeders. we have the ability to breed nice fish here, just need dedication, a basic understanding of genetics, a goal, and patience all that and alot of space for tanks, alot of breeders on aquabid are in thai land where they dont need heaters, which means they can easily breed imagine how many bettas we would all have if nz was a tropical climate and we didnt need heaters
trumpetgear
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: yahooooo no heaters ---we would all run around naked and so would the fish ....................... all jokes aside they are very nice fish and i realilise that we do have some very, very good breeders here .....its mainly the fish themselves ,how they look and show themselves. If only i was that good looking(but i am)
