Sharkie Posted February 18, 2009 Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 there are quite a few available from time to time nigrans,bosemani,lacustrus,new guinea red,trifasciata,axelrodi,furcata's,blue eye's,neon dwarf and there are others that i cant remember.they are lovely fish i had a big tank full of them quite a few years ago. anthony law Posted February 18, 2009 Author Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 ive got a spare 600l tank and im fulling planting at the mo.so i like to put a lot of colourfull fish in it.thats not too small or not too big. that why i though of rainbows if you have diffrant speices can they get along to together.and how many in a school. Sharkie Posted February 18, 2009 Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 they all get on fine but i wouldnt keep the smaller types with the larger ones.you could have a real nice tank with them and some of the smaller south american cichlids wish i had a spare 600l tank.for best display i used to keep only males as allot of the females arnt nearly as colourfull but its up to the individual i spose.good luck keep me posted and some pics would be great. firenzenz Posted February 23, 2009 Report Share Posted February 23, 2009 I had a Rainbow tank about 3-4 yrs ago in a 300ltr and it was such a nice tank. they are georgous in numbers. Will try to grab out some old shots. I thought the ones with horizontal barring with red tail were 'Exquisites' or 'Western' and McCullochs were speckly greeny browns.
