Southerrrngirrl Posted October 21, 2008 Report Share Posted October 21, 2008 If it is in fact a Starfish fungi, apparently also known as a Stinkhorn Fungi it is possibly toxic and therefore not so edible. Also note that the brown spore slime smells like rotting meat or sewage.. therefore not so appetising either. According to an Australian site, there have been cases of dogs dying after consuming this particular fungus.
