mitzy
Every one has different opinans on them but I found them to be great with the bba but they have to be young. Only problem is getting rid of them after they done there job or have got big and start chasing your fish  I like golden myself but sure if the others do a better job or not. Aaron-Betta
Flourish excel is good at removing BBA. Load a syringe with it and squirt on the BBA.
Barrie
OK maybe then I asked the wrong question? I have BBA in the tank in the lounge and it is not too bad but flourish isnt removing it. Its not getting any worst but I would like it gone so can offer it at no charge or failing that, what fish should I use to get rid of it please? Southerrrngirrl
Aren't Otocinclus supposed to be quite good for eating BBA? Or is that just algae in general.. I'm not sure. I know I asked this question too a while back and pretty sure someone recommended oto's.. I'll have a look at some old posts to check. Zabman
Hi Barrie, Have you tried squirting the Flourish Excel directly onto it via a syringe. Also, are you using "Flourish" or "Flourish Excel" because the ordinalry Flourish is different stuff and often confused. If you only have Flourish, I could drop around some excel on the weekend? Cheesejawa
I got a big turkey baster style syringe You always hear stories about people buying them for fishkeeping pusposes getting odd looks. I have heard that SAE are good at eating BBA when they are young but as they get old they get lazy and prefer flakes. I wuld say dose with flourish rather than a fish that you may not want later.

Scuba Sam
I got two large SAE's, they cleared tank one in a week, transferred to tank two and they have hardly touched the BBA in a month!! Go figure. Good luck with getting yours sorted. Sam
