yarimochi Posted April 20, 2008 Report Share Posted April 20, 2008 This has probably been asked beofre but I want to know everything I need to before I put this wood in my tank. Well I went for a trip to wenderholm beach and came back with some nice rooty pale driftwood. My main question is: Can I use this driftwood and what things do I need to do to ensure this wood is 100% safe? This wood was taken from the highest point on a rocky beach. ryanjury Posted April 20, 2008 Report Share Posted April 20, 2008 I just rinse it and chuck it into my tank, if I want it to sink straight away I soak it outside and let it get water logged first.. David R Posted April 20, 2008 Report Share Posted April 20, 2008 How big is it? If you can boil it then I'd suggest you do that. If its too big to boil them soak it for a day or two in a weak bleach solution, then for another month or three with regular water changes.
