gisborne roaches

Featured Replies

They're an Australian roach, first recorded here in Gisborne - hence the name. It can be found in North Island and the very top of South Island.

I'd like to get in touch with anyone who has an established feeder colony of any roaches.

We were told they were German in origin and have been plagued with them for about 3 years now after an unsprayed container was opened

Open the lid of the pond filter and they scuttle off in all directions. There are baby ones in there too so definitely a breeding colony!

anyone in akl got these? had some from living art (cheers mark) and they escaped....no doubt they will surface again.....in mass. They were a great food, lizards seem to love the way they scuttle- 'crunch'

or if someone can post me some pm me and i'll direct credit your bank account

You mean I ought to trap mine and put them on that unmentionable auction site?

maybe......please...you would prob. make the news....woman sells cockroaches and spreads them round the country...MAF investigates....

tell you what, come to my place,I have a big pile of firewood to split, you split it and you can have all the cockys you find, and there will be plenty!!!
