if there were snakes legally in nz, i would have....10

i used to own two pythons in philippines.

it was kept in a modified pig cage. male and female, never bred, but sold it to someone that bred it.

i dont quite remember, as the snakes there are usually mislabelled, but it was more than 5 foot long

ate whole adult chickens wiht ease it was wicked!

yes, they were live

but after a few times we decided to feed them just dead food

literealy just frozen chicken drumstick or frozen rats

you dont have to live in the us to own a snake, ive got 1 brisbane python and i love as a pet, feed it once a week and they are happy!!i cant beleave that they dont even have snakes at the zoo!! thats just poor man.

well aussie is just 3 hours away from nz and they dont allow snake that are not EVEN venomous! i might have to send a snake to nz and see what happens lol but whats funny is that in nz they are allowed dragon lizards and when they bite they hert more than a snake bite , plus if the dragon lizards didnt have legs it would almost look like a snake!!

actually, bearded dragons with no legs look like retarded spiky creature fom the ocean

my opinion:D

yeah went to melbourne

and these are what was for sale;

bird eating spider (dinner plate size) $40

Bearded dragons, 30$

Blue tongues 20$

Scorpion 40$

jardinii 200

all sorts of fish but actually i ddint notice that much different fish there

frogs, geckos, lizards to high heaven and back,

snakes everywhere

big ones for a few hundred around 400 to 800

baby pencil size snakes from 50$

wicked

im moving there in a few years:d

Whether a snake is venomous or not has nothing to do with why they are banned. It is to protect our native birds and animals.

yeah true

although i think our native animals are really really boring

but some of them are really cool, like tuatara

wetas, kiwis and stuff.

but snakes are cool

the thing is tha tmost snakes will die in nz winter anyways

it stoo cold here

yeah,we have enough aussie crap here already, bathurst burr, brush tailed opposums, wallabies.Put that with the pomme crap, rabbitts, gorse, blackberry.etc etc.We don`t want anymore environmental disasters like your cane toads??

get over it...

nz has some of the most amazing animals in the world,

over seas in the few countrys that can get nz natives they are realy rear, in all you have to do is meet the requirments and you can have natives...

any way bak on topic

did u see that thing on the news can not remeber what country he lived in, he was 7 and had a python huge and it eats 10kg of duck adn chicken a week if i remeber right

Awww I love snakes, would love a Reticulated Python.... so beautiful... I guess it is a good thing they are not allowed here in NZ... however, if I ever moved overseas a snake would definately be a must in our household...

Came across this pic.... wonder how comfortable that guy is
