    Less is more?

Its pretty easy, once you take the rocks out and some of the water to cover all the rocks it will be so easy. make sure you have a big net.

    Less is more?

Moving rocks and having your hands in the tank is just as stressful as trying to catch them. Much better to catch them all and work on the tank without having to worry about stressing them more. Should be easy to catch if you take all the rocks out.

Hairdier could be anything. They shoudl be ok in one bucket, just keep a eye on them. Put the cleaner shrimp in a plastic bag, , just take it out with a net. Poly box would be better than a bucket. I am sure Organism will have 2-3 few spare. Just make sure that they dont leak,

no problems removing some rock. put all the rock that you will keep into a bucket with water. also the fish/coral. all will be ok.
  6. I am in two minds about small nano tanks, But i think if you are going small then at least get good quality filtration as suggest by evil. Pointless doing it on the cheap for a nano, maybe go 3ft and do it cheaply as you will have more margin for error than a smaller tank.
  7. Joes juice will deal to it.
  8. i did did not read all the posts. how dumb
  9. So it a pest. its very hardy. real pain to remove from a tank.
  10. So is it a aiptasia anemoe?
  11. Black granite is too dark for a marine tank./ no decent tank uses black granite. best to use a white colour as it will brighten the tank.
  12. what is it?, looks like aiptasia
  13. Marines can’t be done on a budget. It is an expensive hobby and only the fish/corals will suffer due tio cutting corners to suit cheap budgets. I doubt i could keep a small tank that size looking good so i don’t think you should even attempt it, Save up for a larger tank. Small tank will have so much less tolerance to salinity / temperature. Also water quality will be hard to maintain. Do we really want to encourage Hobbyist to keep fish/coral in such small conditions which is cruel for fish anyway? We should be grateful that we can get them as the future does not look that great with the reefs being destroyed, So it is important that we give this creature the best possible conditions to thrive and grow. Not just keep them alive. I am not totally agaist nano tanks as if you have the correct fish and have experience in keeping a marine tank over many years and understand the water chemistry side then it might be an option, but for beginners i think it is a no go
  14. They are similar to keep as sleeper gobies. When you get them i would put them in a bucket of prazi for 20 mins. In about 3 months i would mix the food with prazi to deworm them.
  15. tank is too small, its not like keeping goldfish. marines need very good water quality and having a small tank is going to make it hard to keep things stable, especially the temperature in summer. Best to start off in a 3-4ft tank. here is some info http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/basic- ... 23675.html

anthias pics, The last pics is of a tuka anthias, my favorite, Still going after month. very hard to keep.
  17. need to solve the cause of the diatoms. normally get it if you dont use ro/di. sand-sifting gobies will put sand on all your corals if there are any on the sand bed. Yellow head sleepers should be ok in your tank. not sure how they will go long term. good idea to deworm them every 6 months

I dont really do anything special re the clams, clams need good lighting and low flow. If you have zero nitrate then you should be adding ammonia to get the nitrates up a little as they dont like zero nitrates. Good to have clams on a rock as they will attached themselves. Not yet, he is in my sump. i have mainly acropora in my sump which he does not touch. They can nip on corals like brains, xenia etc. al depends on the fish as some will nip and some wont. Might try to auction some off oneday, hard coral to get. Collected mine over the last 6 years. Might try to frag some when i get time.
