    Duboisi Fry

I did research and then put them in together. If they were the same type but 2 different varients like T. Duboisi White band and T. Duboisi yellow band, then wouldn't have done it. There are chances that they may interbreed, but i havn't seen them courting the other types.

    Duboisi Fry

No they don't have many young. The most in a batch that i have got so far is 12 which is from the biggest female ikola. They are about 1cm at the moment. I don't really know how many ikola i have. I should have about 20ish. Pemba I think i have about 7-8, Duboisi i have only 2, the male killed the others i had

    Duboisi Fry

  6. 200 ay...hmmmmm Dont say it out loud .. Last batch that i had from my female was well over 150+ cos i couldn't be bothered counting above that
  7. In tank like that i would go for one male and maybe 2 females. Too many males would end up in fights and not enough 'action'. Too many females would not be good for the male. It takes about 3-4 weeks for a female to be in condition and 2-3 weeks for the fry to leave to cave. So if you had more than 2 females the male will always be spawning and it may be a good thing in the short run but not in the long run. Having more than 2 females would create a dominant female who will always be after food and the male, which is another down point for having more than 2 females. Personally i would have a bit of gravel 1-2cm, a small water flow like you said bit of bog wood & rocks and good varied food. Even if you don't get everything perfectly they would still breed, Just by being on good food and good water.
  8. first of all nice picz bud. 8) Its very interesting that this has happened. Thought that males wont breed that close to each other. well anything is possible I have found my males to be very territorial. I had 2 groups at the start one trio and then another with 2m & 3f. The bigger group was spawning more often, compared to the other group. Initially the bigger group didn't spawn. I never saw them fight but they just didn't breed then all of a sudden they started breeding and i always have one of the males from the group fanning away at a given time. So my argument being that once they have sorted out their hierarchy they will settle down and breed.. more males increased competition i guess
  9. okoay thanx mate. If you do see another like mine please let me know
  10. hey bro they do not have the white edge. They are dark brown in colour with off white dots. Just show me a pic and i should be able to see. cheers for the help
  11. i am on the look out for some Starlight Bristlenose Pleco, L182. They will probably be on sale under the name of Ancistrus hoplogenys. If anyone does see one please let me know. I bought a male and if i don't fine a female soon i will sell the loney male. Here is a picture of a female from planetcatfish. a male thanx for your help guys.
  12. hey bro, i am not really sure but they look like Panaque changae L226. I do remember looking at them so hmmmmm. Plus these fish are imported from peru and thats where they are native to as well. Just my 5 cents bro
  13. smae here i have found no problems. And the Gbaz grow alot faster than the corys. I had sterbai fry with them and they were sweet. Hope that helps 8)
  14. they shouldn't be too hard mate to breed. Just take them home don't do big things for a week and then next weekend do a 3%-40% waterchange with colder water and they should breed within a couple of days max a week. they should breed fine aslong as the females are in condition, meaning 'fat'.
  15. they sure are..you may wanna put them in a tank soo..the females are filling up  male is not with them for this reason
  16. left them with dad but took them out when they started hatching cos the dad left the cave..go figure
  17. they have red eyes and the body is not full yellow more like blotches. I will put some pictures soon the young are healthy and have a good hatch rate. I have counted about 27 fry, and 5 eggs that didnt hatch. Good for an albino i think
  18. I don't keep trios or pairs. I like colonies . I have 3 males and 5 females in the group. The parents are not big. They are less than 6cm, and the female being bigger. Out of the 3 males only one is 'active', and only one female is 'active' out of the five. The others are taking it easy i guess.
  19. they are hatching rite now :bounce: . Hope everything goes to plan.
  20. a single females left. 7cm
  21. My ABN have just spawned and now to wait and see if they are fertile  . Fingers crossed .
  22. I have a small colony of normal bristle nose and i am wanting to sell them. i have got 4 females and 1 males. All breeding well and giving about 200-400+ babies a month as a colony. Good for pocket money  PM me with Offers, or will put them on trademe if they aren't sold.
  23. the display/breeding tank is 550Liters and the rearing tank is about 160. I have some pemba breeding aswell but they won't be for sale for some time. Not a huge fan of duboisi but don't mind them, ive got a pair of them with the colony.
