Oh what beautiful doggies danilada, that picture is so cute and funny :lol: :lol: :lol: BlueandKim, my next door neighbor is involved with breeding those dogs. Sometimes when he has a puppy at home he'll take it over, soooo cute. As a matter of fact, his wife was deaf and they had a dog trained for her. Caper

Growing up we always let our cats outside, not letting them out wasn't something you did. My precious Puffball, when we first got him we lived in an apartment building and didn't let him out. When we moved to this apartment, he was allowed to go out (thinking that letting him out was the "right" thing to do). Then at a trip to the vet's, the vet said you don't have to let cats out, it was ok to keep them in. All along I thought that idea was mean! But he said, if they get used to being in all the time that's fine. Anyway, Puffball was always taken in at night, I spent many night waiting up for him to come home (you'd think he was a teenager). By the time we found out it was indeed okay to keep cats inside, it was too late to do this to Puffball as he had a heart disease and the vet said keeping him in now would cause him stress! ANYWAY, Tigger and Ginger do NOT go out. Ginger managed to get out a couple of times but didn't get far. I got her at the SPCA do have no idea if she was an outdoor cat anyway. But the cats that I truly feel sorry for are the abandoned ones. What really upsets me is when an abused animal makes the news, people come out of the woodwork wanting to adopt the animal. But where are all these people, when the SPCA is filled with animals who just want a good home and love! Gee, think I went off topic and much to long winded, sorry :oops: Caper

Yes, connects right to the tap. Takes the water out, adjust the connector and puts water back in. To add dechlorinator, I just take a small container of tank water, add the dechlorinator to it, then pour in tank and mix it around a bit before a I start adding the fresh water. Personally I find it's bit of trial and error with the temp :evil: . I don't measure to ensure the temp is the exact temp the tank, but didn't do that when I was using jugs of water either. I feel the faucet, the hose, the vaccuum to try and get a sense if water is getting too hot/cold. I also keep an eye on the thermometer. A couple of degrees either way in temp shouldn't bother the fish too much anyway. They definetely make water changes much easier. I have arthritis in my back so it was a real pain (pun intended ) lugging the jugs of water and such. Caper

GZ_Loach...how did you make out, or should I say, how did your fishies make out with the power cut? What did you do to help them? Caper

As it turns out, with my tap I have to unscrew the end that is already on it (which is not threaded on the end, ah...where the water comes out) then put the adaptor directly on the tap but it has thread. But that is why I took the connector which has a "male" end and "female" end, so I could find the one that would work. Caper

Yep, I had to go to a hardware store and buy an adaptor as the connector didn't fit any taps either. I disconnected the connector and took it with me too to make sure I got one that fit. It sure beats filling and emptying jugs of water. The only one I have to do that with is my 10 gallon but that's so small doesn't take much time. Caper

Black moors I'm guessing. You have come to the right spot; you will, as you can see from above, get lots of help. Just a note that when you add meds for fishies you must remove any carbon that you have in your filter (if any at all). Carbon will remove the meds. Does you filter hang on the back of your tank? Check to see if it has a name on it. Also if you are able, purchase test kits they come in very handy. Caper

I forget the thread it maybe even in this section where somebody else tried bamboo. He was using it to hide tubing in, it looked great. But he then had to remove it as it became mouldy. I can't remember if he treated it in anyway or even boiled it but do you think boiling it would stop it from going mouldy? Caper
