    ph level

Umm  ...I forget...how do check the pH in your tap water...do you have to let is sit in a cup for awhile or something????? Only once in my 29 gallon did my pH go down under 7...it was when it was first up and running...started to add something I bought to increase it...STOPPED...soon as I read on here not to add chemicals...long story short...the pH in either tank...usually stays the same! What are some of the reasons that would make a change in the pH?
  2.  peanuts...please...explain to him that MTS is incurable :bounce: :bounce:
  3. Sorry about your loss Head Hunter
  4. When I first had my fish my goldfish got whitespot after being hasseled by a molly...I was fortunate to spot it (no pun intended) before it became too serious...I don't recall off hand how long I treated but I did have to do a 25% water change before each dose...but that may depend on the brand you use, I don't know...but the directions weren't very clear on the bottle so I e-mailed the company's customer service and confirmed about the water change. It was cleared up in no time! Good luck...and let us know how fishies are doing!
  5. I've added that site to my favorites Mustcooktea...excellent resource! Oh my...added to my favorites for informational purposes only not that fishy poop is a favorite topic

    Cat biscuits

Gee Jude...never even hear of cat biscuits before...can't get them here...only doggie biscuits!
  7. Could it be hiding? I had 15 neons...one died...but the last number of weeks was only finding 13 so figured that another died and was eaten before I noticed...well, the other night, counting 14...where the other one was is still a mystery  :-?
  8. How's the fishy? Are you doing regular water changes? Just a suggestion, but one of the things that was said here that it was probably not a good idea to get a fish that didn't look well to begin with...just keep that in mind next time your shopping for fishy... try to get a good look, I know not always easy, and even the healthy looking ones can die once you get them home...but try to watch for anything that might indicate a problem not swimming much, physical signs like missing parts of fins, eyes not clear, mishapen body...if you know what I mean! Test your water...water changes....don't feed too much...and know that sometimes, no mattter what we do...sometimes our fishy will die and sometimes we just don't know why Good luck!
  9. I agree with Jude...keep up with regular water changes... Those with more knowledge will tell you more but if tank is still cycling, I think you'd probably be better off doing frequent water changes...but smaller amounts...then once things settle down...just regular changes...would that be correct folks, frequent and small till tank settles?
  10. Glad your fishy is doing well considering the eye problem! Did I read it here...but those with more experience will tell you...but I thought it was something that they are prone too...but I could be wrong!
  11. I know I've asked questions about what to do when power goes out...and there is lots posted here... Do you think it could be good...or is it already and done & I haven't seen it...to do a...is it a "sticky" explaining/recommending what to do when power goes out??? Just a suggestion to the wise ones That way it would be all in one spot so people could review it rather than searching...what do you think?
  12. oh my... ...just think...you're making history...
