thanks Carla I have recently turned my temp down in both tanks as they were up around 27 so are both now at around 25 which I think is better for most of my fishies, so I might buy some more and see how it goes.

You lfs will always try and sell you something I agree with Spidersweb. I have Jager heaters and they all have condensation in them but still work okay, so I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you are concerned about them getting "stuck on" in the future just keep a thermometer in the water at all times and check it whenever you remember. Thermometers are really cheap to buy, under $10.

I had two together once and they kind of chased each other and picked on each other. Maybe they are better on their own, I have heard they can become territorial.

IMHO There is nothing wrong with letting your cat have a litter if you know you can get homes for the kittens. What really irks me are people who get kittens for christmas and then are sick of them by March when they aren't so cute anymore so stop caring for them :evil: Animals are your responsiblity for the life of the animal!

I thought getting tattoos removed was more painful than getting them in the first place, and if that's the case then it must be extremely painful for the fish. I bought some dyed glass fish once because I didn't know they were dyed, but now I know I won't get them again.

Nice tanks guys. I found with mine it just grew on its own I don't have a CO2 system or use fertilizers and my lighting is only 3x 30w fluoros in a 4 ft tank. I think it kind of likes medium to low light from things I have read.

the reason I try and keep the temperature similar is that the water in chch is really cold when it comes out of the tap, like it has already been in the fridge.

Ha ha Jude, you're not wrong there!! Have you ever heard of this saying "Dogs have owners, cats have staff" it is sooooo true. Most of the time cats either ignore you or annoy you by reminding you they need food, but one well-timed smoodge and you feel priviledged to be able to touch them.

dwarf gouramis can be more shy than other gouramis ie golden gouramis but I do agree with what others have put here, I don't think they should be resting on the bottom all the time, my golden gouramis only rest on the bottom just before bedtime (lights out)
