  1. I can't claim this one, my partner took it the other day at home 8) PS. Had to downsize this a ridiculous amount to post it. Kept telling me photos must be no more than 640 pixels wide. Had to get this photo down to 28K in size before it would let me use it :-?
  2. Photos photos!! Bengals are gorgeous, but have been led to believe they are very outgoing cats (and not shy!) Not many snow breeders either, where did this wee lad come from? I like checking out breeders and admiring their beauties 8)
  3. My recently morphed tree frogs eat fruit flies. Well the marginally larger older ones do, I have only seen one of the younger ones hunt once. But I am guessing (hoping!) they are eating at night, as there are always little-no fruitflies left in the morning.
  4. Hmmm, I wont be much help with types and specs But keep in mind the battery life of older laptops (ie it can be crappy). You wouldn't want to start watching your DVD in the car only to find out the battery life of your laptop is only an hour You can however buy new laptop batteries as well, so check that out when looking at brands/models 8)
  5. Its cool. Checked out our flat today, and my road at home, and my partners parents place in Akl No different to walking down the street and seeing houses, its all public views *shrugs*
  6. theres a yellow one in the Palmy Animates at the moment too. Hes swimming free in a tank too, looks pretty sprightly
  7. Yeah! got 6 whistlers from town, they have either just lost their tails or only have a stump remaining. So little froglets Put them on the edge of the pond and they all crawled straight out and into the moss: and a crappy photo of an adult i took the other night: Looks grainy because it was very dark and high iso. My partner played with it a bit to lighten it up. I hope the littlies learn to catch fruitflies soon
  8. 2 results back, both A- *phew* one to go. However, last result is worth about 90% of the year and is the one that really matters *eeeeeeek* and now I have nothing to do so don't know what to do with myself... its very odd...
  9. Thanks for the comments They're much appreciated. I had fun setting it up, I like creating natural environments. Need more frogs though mine have vanished effectively today lol Question too... how long do tree frog tadpoles take to change to frogs, if they already have their back legs?
  10. Here ya go, finally set it up tonight! Not the best pic, as it doesn't show the slope or the pond in the front right corner very well, but will get better ones tomorrow Decided against using the ivy, as everything is kind of NZ-ish, and its quite out of place looking Will keep an eye out for a suitable back climber I guess. And need something for on that wood in the back right. Frogs have claimed the small wood in the middle, as it has a little cave lol
  11. eugh tell me about it I dropped them an email a few weeks ago asking if they could put up an extra page when people start cat classifieds letting them know kittens are not allowed to be rehomed until 8 weeks of age. Not hard to do, apparently theres something similar when starting DVD listings (letting you know about zoning) But as it wont make them money, nothings happened yet. Apparently playing around with how the photos present is more important. In the meantime, 50 odd listings with kittens "ready to go at 6 weeks old!" are up :-? Rant over. Its really bugging me, specially as kitten season has kicked in with a hiss and roar... (sorry for being off topic!)
  12. hey enzoom Nothing really new. Had my last exam on Thursday, and am at home in Hawkes Bay now visiting my parents. Froglets still in the tube tank. Dumped a heap of fruitflies in there before I left so they are in heaven haha. I modified the background in my exo terra (added mossy bark to it) and have put the base stones in with a weed mat on but thats as far as I got. Need to dig up some suitable non fertilized soil from the yard and set it out. Bought a varigated ivy and some babies tears from palmers. Nicked baby ferns and moss from across the road (shhhh) I will post a pic when its up and planted 8)
  13. We have a grapefruit tree in our yard, which consequently drops fruit. So lots of fruit flies sitting on the fruit. I go out there with my large, fine meshed fishtank net and slap it down over a grapefuit. All the flies go up into the net, then i use cardboard to shut it, and transfer into tank. My wee tree frogs loved them 8)
  14. Cool video. Was he making those movements to push the skin off??
  15. Just had some fun. Went out with my fish net and found one of the grapefruits from out tree in the yard that had fallen off. Covered in fruit flies of course, so held net over fruit and kicked it. Voila, flies all fly into net, cardboard over net opening, and transfer to tank. Both frogs were like "Hey! I see that" and one caught a few. The others a bit of a tard, it jumped and missed twice  I think they are used to their tank now though, they have come out more often today and sit on the sides or ferns (instead of hiding under the driftwood)
  16. oooo nice albinos, I really like them, they're so bright The whistlers I have came from Animates in Palmy (last 2) I was told a lady had caught them down near Himitangi I think and brought them in. Frog hunt anyone? I would like more at some stage Apparently they are getting a heap of whistling tadpoles soon too
  17. One more, I couldn't resist this pose. (but I HATE trying to shoot through perspex!!$#! wont focus nicely)
  18. Froglets came out this arvo (otherwise they are very good at hiding! lol) They are only tiny (like 1.5cm) and the perspex is grubby, so were difficult to try and get sharp: PS. converting the files from raw to jpg seems to have made them really grainy for some reason. Grrr. Ah well, you get the idea
  19. You never said you had great danes!!! I demand photos!
  20. well, you *can* but they do try to jump away, and it stresses them, and they wont enjoy it
  21. I have 2 whistling tree frogs They are too cute At the moment they are boarding in my 36 litre perspex tube aquarium. The guppies that were in there got short shifted into my nano planted (no other fish in it anyway) and all I did was empty the water down to the bottom so theres half gravel, half pond. Left the driftwood and java fern in there My terrarium arrived today too :bounce: Wish I could have fun setting it up, but I have already spent too much time emptying the tube one out today. Need to study for tomorrows exam  Will they eat any of the tiny snails left in there?
  22. Wow, impressive tank there Ooo, another question. How long do tadpoles take to morph into frogs?
  23. Well I have committed myself now  http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=186795928 Whistling or Bell....Whistling or Bell.... And love the idea of the fresh water mussels in the water area too! Thanks for the pics too reptilenut, its cool you have the live plants in there. Thats what appeals to me most, being able to go out and get live plants from wherever to put in there (which you can't do in aquariums...)
  24. I want OK questions, hmmm.... Do your bell frogs make any noise? I was considering getting whistling tree frogs, but the bigger bell frogs are quite cool too, nice colours in yours So apart from the occasional water change, rescape, catching/feeding frogs, is there anything else to know? Do your frogs move around much? go for swims? or sit still 99% of the time?
