I was just going to put that up. Lot easier to treat in a BBhospital tank. Can then dose full-dose on the main tank, and dose accordingly for the other fish that don't appreciate the meds. at that strength. Ulun 104

It isn't the temp that kills, it just speeds up the lifecycle. When they hatch, and come in contact with the medication, that is the kill period. Must continue treatment for at least three days AFTER you think the fish are clear. Yes, watch for the spikes and do water changes with aged, and same temp water so as not to stress the fish any more. the clowns prolly died from the medication as they can not tolerate the full dosage. If you get in touch with the Pres. of the NZKA, a Christine Marshal, she should know, as she is the species coordinator. I have quite a few species Shae, but as I have just got back from Oz, I'm not set up for breeding at the moment, hopefully soon tho. Aquanut has three different species on T/M and pretty reasonably grown on too. You are quite right too Shae that there are less breeders and members in the club now. I hear-tell that NZ is a fairly stretched out set of two islands. Where abouts on those islands are you situated. Some one nearby may be able to help you. I think if you go to your PROFILE and change it to that place, that that is the way to go. No I haven't got a filter like that, but thanks. But with the new tank, I'd wash the filter with some of the tank water, do a water change with aged water, and go from there. 1.030 is the SG of the sea water Alan. I don't know what that ratio works out to cause I get mine from the Ohiwa harbour. Try doing google on Brine Shrimp Direct, they have a good information section in that. For just hatching them no additions are neccessary, but to raise them up, more salts are required. Alan 104

You have it Rogan. Heat rises and the cold water moves in to be heated. Called convection if I remember from my school days. This in time MUST create an even temp thru out the tank. Alan 104

I use a round disc shaped emery stone called a spit stone for obvious reasons. Used for sharpening axes. Smoothing edges should be done with running water to alliviate the chance of glass splinters flying and also less wear on the stone. There is also a diamond dust disc used with an electric drill, but I've never used this system, but I do know of others that have. Alan 104

Surely if you had adequqte filtration, therefore adequate water movement, there would be no such thing as a "cold area" The tank water is near enough the same all over. You can develop a cooler area under the gravel without an U/G fiter tho Alan 104
