    Water Changing.

Bilbo, is the water that comes from this, at any time in touch with zinc,(galvanising), or copper? Any oxidising metal contacts? If so, it will not be suitable for a fish tank. Alan
  12. These are definately a seasonal fish The breeders seem to sell all their off-spring, and that creates a shortage. You can pick them up from breeders, if you are nice, for $1. BUT, I have seen them in the LFS for $4.50 IMHO, a complete rip-off. Alan

  16. What colour are your mollies? and what are the platies? They will probably be the fish that they look most like. Although with the cross breeding, throw-backs in colouratation can be expected as well. Alan

    Mosquito Fish

Yes David R, Don't mention them on this forum. I believe you have to have a permit to keep them, and it's illegal to keep, breed or sell them or shift them from any water way, or pond, or lake, in NZ. If you catch them from a lake, you can not [legally] return them alive again to the water. So, Why not just get a whole lot of guppy females and breed them. They aren't vicious like the gambusia, which by the way is their tax. name. Alan
  21. Definately the angels are a hazard Sue. Have lotsa cover for then to hide in and under Alan
  22. You have a little to learn fins about breeding. The babies love finding gaps to squeeze thru I've even seen fish on the opposite side, suck the babies thru. The joint between the divider and the front and back and under, HAS to be baby-proof Alan
