  1. Caryl, you don't mean Rosy BARBS do you?? Alan 104
  2. My guess is that the fish are poisoned. Bet the tank has been made with the wrong silicone. It HAS to be acetic cure. Other wise it becomes a DEATH-TANK Alan 104
  3. Looks like she has it in her genes, or the males, or both. I wouldn't worry about the coloration, it would appear that she throws towards that colour of baby. An albino does'nt have "black" coloration. Alan 104
  4. Ok. It's a guppy, any clues on the coloration? Alan 104
  5. ChaldoChris416 Can yo give us a discription of the fish you are refering to? The mother? Alan 104

mmmmmmmmmm My brow is furrowed too. Alan 104
  7. Fay, please believe me. There are ppl out there with a weird sense of humour. I'm sometimes put into that category myself. But there are also others that really appreciate your tanks, your input, and for me, most of all, your pictures. They are fabulous, and it would be a shame to see you do this. Just give the others a "ROLL" . They back off when no one takes notice. To some it is a type of bullying and of course to others, it hurts. Keep the pics coming Fay, Please, pretty please. Alan 104
  8. I would say, given the right conditions, they'll all drop before xmas, and be on the way with the next lot straight away. Happy guppying. Alan 104
  9. LOL Kim, if I did that, I'd be a President of THREE clubs. Not enough room for my Siggy with three up Alan 104
  10. All three are expecting a joyous time in the near future. Alan 104
  11. Tonight Peter, at 9.00 in the chatroom here. See you then. (clik the "Chatroom" top right corner from where you are now.) Just follow the directions. Alan 104
  12. The red that I'm thinking of Caryl is about the same as the meat in your snail pic mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmm Alan 104
  13. Bristlenose do not touch blue-green algae, at least mine don't, and at times I have doozy b/g growing. Alan 104
  14. What ever happened to those beatiful red ones we had years ago. I remember them from my childhood days in our first aquarium with the goldfish and valiseneria, in a steel framed tank. They would easily grow to 25mm across. Alan 104
  15. Hi Peter, welcome to the forum.I'm down the road from you a bit in Whakatane, only just over an hours drive from you. We have a group of about 8 to 10 of us here. We are affiliated to the NZKA at the moment, and of course the FNZAS, and are considering starting up the Eastern BOP Aquarium and Pond Society. We have had a couple of meetings, and the members are advised by email. Our last meeting was a BBQ and celebration of ej having finished his new fishroom and it's opening, we had 12 ppl there, and a good time. There are several members from your area that are keen to start a club up your way but need someone to put the nose onto the grindstone, and do something about it and organise things. Last time I was in Living Waters I saw a notice in there about starting a club. Best you put notices up locally and try to get an interview on the radio. I advertised for new members on our "buy sell and exchange", and that was the nucleus of our group. Alan 104
  16. He wants a bit more than a bit, and once she's had a bit, she is always prego as long as there is a male in the tank with her to keep her happy. She can have up to approx. five lots of babies without help from the male. But normally you'd remove the babies from the tank as soon as they are born, as the males don't worry about incest or being underage. Alan 104
  17. Brown Ramshorn IMHO Alan 104
  18. Decide which species you want to breed Then do some research on them. With most of the dwarf cichlids, ya can get away with a 600mm tank. Make sure there are hiding places for one or the other if they get scrappy. Feed them up separated for about a week or two on live food. Keep them in sight of one another. Maybe just put a divider in their breeding tank. Make sure you know how they breed, eg. cave or open spawner and have a couple of choices set up for them. Oh, by the way, make sure you get a pair, watch the tank from where you are buying them and you can normally see the males flirting with their preferences. Make sure the shop assostant uses two nets to catch them, they don't get too stressed that way, and you've more chance of getting the right two. Goodluck Critta Alan 104
  19. Might be a little hi, but I could live with it. So could my fish. Stop worrying. Alan 104
  20. Does it have any shell in it?? Alan 104
  21. oooppps, Keep it dark, you are the only one that wants to see if the babies are out. Under "normal" circumstances, they are laid in beds of weeds that don't have a bright light shining all the time onto them. I'm not saying the eggs are light sensitive, but you asked for ways to improve "egg-loss" Alan 104
  22. Add a touch of anti-fungal, methylene blue. Alan 104
  23. Luke they may survive in that, but will they breed?? Ask Dogmatrix what pH he uses. He appears to be doing something right. Alan 104
  24. Alan

    REALLY WEIRD

Mike Jackson Pleco in reverse?? Alan 104
  25. $260 offer on the pump now Alan 104
