  1. what queen angel, i went and didn't see any. but seen a very nice atlantic blue tang!
  2. agree with the kh as mine is around 6 -6.5. and i never managed to get a mag of 1500 even with lots of mag chips im can not get it above 1280 to 1300 max. my cal sits around 380 and that for a long time, if i increase it with cloride it just settles back to that. but what the heck i stopped being concerned. 8)
  3. i guess you are correct. can't effort to do that as i haven't got that much hair left anyway. :-?
  4. maybe you should enlighten us with your personal experience regarding Zeovit on a new tread (don't want to hijack Chimera's). this would make on doubt a good tread! and could answer some questions as well!
  5. Layton i didn't know that you used Zeovit? that something new! when?
  6. better clean your tank then Jetskisteve - and you give me a hard time about some dirty glass.
  7. if you need any help let me know(charges are minimal to return profit) but its pretty hard to achive.
  8. where do you get your blue hermit crabs from?
  9. i take it very personal when you guys pick on me. may be i should go to a different forum where i am more understood!! i always thought that my garage tank was very advanced to say the least (you just jellous) . hey it keeps my stonies alive, they even grow more then i was able to do 15 years ago (or 5, or 4 hrrrgmm well you get my point).
  10. yeah i've been watching oogie on Zeovit dot com. his tank is about the size as my frag tank in the garage (no smart comments by the people who have seen it because i am a sensitive guy). just a bit more high tech and other good bits i don't have. one thing it show that you really (and i mean really) need a chiller on a very small well lit tank. will be interesting to follow the outcome!!
  11. he chim, whats wrong with your xenia why is it gorwing so slowly? joke aside my brown one (the one in your picture doesn't grow very fast at all. it used too until i indroduced the silver pom pom type which just doesn't stop growing. i wonder if there is some kind of chemical warfare going on betwen the types???
  12. send brianemone a PM as he is in hamilton maybe you can see his setup. lots of different opinons around.
  13. the list is made up years ago and han't changed much because we are such a small number that nobody really is interrested in increasing the list. reef has tried a few years back don't really with how much success. but it seems the hobby is taking 3 steps forward and at least 2+ back. how do you know that? since then it has improved quite a bit but it still needs to get even better and hopefully not worse. unless somebody tries to import some live rock again, and again
  14. may be you should tell eric his tank is crap and he doesn't know anything and you will show him the right way to do things. damn another great tui's add (for salties that is) hope this was not to personal towards eric but i guess hes is not that touchie and soft skinned!
  15. i agree, but still feel sad!
  16. same here what a shame, what a shame! hope you not trying to put someone elses tank down, because like i said before most would be very happy with such a tank!!
  17. run SteveA run i have just seen a MAF truck with 20 odd heavy armed guys pulling up your driveway and they have a milktruck full of bleach in tow just in case a bottle isn't enough. wonder what fish would eat (fingers?) its most likely only 3-4 cm long.
  18. years ago with a quarantine mess up MAF was asking LFS in AKL for addresses of customers. they pleaded ignorant in the believe that was planning just that (bleach in your tank) it could have been just paranoia but better safe then sorry. but one could always submit pictures and just give them an email address and not your home one, if all they want is pictures of fish allready in NZ one would assume that this should be satisfactory. maybe?? i will go and some of my old pic's out to be ready to post them. (for MAF people - the pictures are years old and the fish have gone to fish heaven a long time ago)
  19. if thats your tank very nice! you should get some Z.....t and those colours will improve to your liking also your will get ithe watera lot cleaner and you will get rid of all those unsightly algae. have to agree with wasp greta large acro's which tend to very hard to keep and get them to adjust to a new inviroment, I just can't find any of them in the pictures of your last tank (the one that was posted on RC and on this forum)? did something happend to this / your old tank in the way of RTN or mass perishing of all those nice big acro's? did you use a DSB with that tank? many people would be very happy to have such large (growing?) acro's in their tanks never mind a little algae and aiptaisa (kind of cute in moderation, plus shops used to sell them to newbees the aiptaisa that is)
  20. he runs two 250watt and at present one 150watt over a 5 foot tank which is way more than most people have! can't remember from memory if he has any tubes over the tank. :-? plus most of his corals are higher up.
  21. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005- ... /index.php i like this tank and take a look at his lighting and coral colours. unless this person is lying as well. great growth and colours with lots of fish and just 150 M/h's. nevermind that he also uses Zeovit.
  22. but it was a great exercise (tight ar.e me saves heaps of money on gym fees that way) yeah you seemed a bit puffed out when reaching the "surface" again, then again jetskisteve didn't even last 2 minutes (must be age ). looking forward to seeing you in wellington in the near future. take care
  23. or even better as many tank shots don't look half as good as in real life!
  24.  at least he showed some pic's of his tank with nice looking acro's which included growth. more then most do!
