  1. Yes very weird Where it is now is less flow so maybe it will make a home there. I have the MH lights on now and it has puffed up so seems to like it there. Will have to wait and see. Will keep you all posted.
  2. Basically it has detached from its skeleton and have moved to another area of my tank. It looks like it likes it there, but will it die? Sorry not the best images, but you can see what has happened. Thanks
  3. Glue or tie with cotton.

    BUGS

We use bed sheets to cover the tanks and tell the BUGMAN to be extra careful around the tank i.e. don't go near it with the spray. Have been wanting to use those BOMBS but too scared to with the tanks, but if you have the tank sealed by the sheets, even if they are the plastic type, then it "should" be ok.

    clean up crew

Not sure how many you should have, but I'll be happy to take some off your hands if they are good hair algae eaters!
  11. Wouldn't it be right in saying that "if you don't have a decent needle-wheel pump, then no matter how good the skimmer design, it would fail?". Wouldn't the pump design be 75% of how well the skimmer performs? Just my thoughts.
  12. So Wasp, do you put a lid on your container so the water doesn't squirt out?! Do you use warm water and vinegar?
  13. Anyone interested check it out here: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/sump-and-aquamedic-biostar-protein-skimmer-hang-on-for-sale-vt14932.html
  14. They like frozen Mysis Shrimp you can get from Jansens or HFF.
  15. Thanks Steve, will take up your offer!
  16. Ooops. I've just tonight changed over my sump to a bigger one, but didn't realise it was that big that I needed more saltwater! Probably another 40 to 50 litres. What would be the best solution. Go out now and get some - tide is going out now, or wait till tomorrow when the tide comes in. I know it is not ideal as it is raining. I'm a little desperate. p.s. always used NSW and never ASW so would not know how to mix even if I got some. Cheers
  17. That's pretty amazing. And also very tidy. Hardly any cables to be seen. I wonder what the power cost is?
  18. don't have any liquid garlic, but have a clover - keeps the vampires away!
  19. Hi Folks, I need to make some more seafood mix tonight. I was wanting to add garlic this time to the mix. Can I add raw garlic and process it with the mix? Cheers
  20. I was looking at my tank just a moment ago and what did I see?? A good size bristleworm smokin' I remember someone saying that it could be them spawning? Anyone else seen this and know what it could be?? My clowns saw it and dashed over to investigate/eat. They are greedy little things. Talking about eating, I need to make some more seafood mix. I was wanting to add garlic this time to the mix. Can I add raw garlic and process it with the mix? Many thanks guys
  21. Yes the 350D is an exceptional camera. I had to decide whether to go with the Canon 350D or Olympus E300 and went for the E300 as the menu's were much easier to use, but for picture quality 350D was a little better AND if I knew this earlier how expensive the Olympus 4/3rd lenses are, I would have moved to Canon and just lived with the menu system. In saying all this, I am very happy with the E300 and am saving up for the Macro which I tested out and it produced amazing results.
  22. I have to agree with Suphew. My whole family has always had problems with Sony equipment - especially failing after the warranty has expired! I try not to touch Sony stuff - Except PSP and Playstations! They rock 8)
  23. Canon DSLR's are very good, so are Nikon and Olympus. I've looked at all of them and the most user friendly (in regards to the menu system, buttons, and intuitive) is the Olympus. DSLR's are also more expensive, but are easier to upgrade as you can purchase more lenses for the camera where are the point and shoot are fixed. Also DSLR's give better image quality (usually).
