  1. My question would be.... How can these people afford it!?!
  2. I bought some disposables from the Safety Shop. More designed for dry application as it does tend to leak, but at least handling corals is ok.
  3. Justin had one for sale. Don't know whether he still does, but check in the Private Sale under Dogmatix for contact numbers.
  4. If you found it in the rock pool, wouldn't the water heat up, esp. in this weather? I know the ideal temp is around 19oC but if higher wouldn't it be ok?
  5. I'd be freaking out! Would the AR620 be big enough for the octopus? I say that because the only octopus I've seen is at Kelly Tarltons in a big cylinder tank.
  6. Krama is right. The tank cost next to nothing compared to the other equipment!!!!!
  7. Hi, welcome to the forum. Checkout this link. It will give you some clues as to where to start. http://www.reefcentral.com/modules.php?s=&name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=1 And then look at how I setup my tank. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/1-vt9619.html?postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 You will be looking at Minimum $1800.00 just for the equipment alone, but you can start purchasing the stuff a bit at a time. Do a lot of research on this site and on http://www.reefcentral.com Good luck and don't be discouraged. Make sure you get it right THE FIRST TIME. It will save you money, time and heartache in the long run. My tank has been running for 14 months and loving it. Well worth the effort.
  8. I want one! http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=Solaris
  9. Good to see another Nano tank. Looks similar to mine, just that mine is looking a little more crowded than yours! Do you have a sump?

  11. It's doing well because it's a new frag from Justin. I'm hoping it will stay looking good!
  12. That's funny IRA, but true!
  13. Yes would highly recommend Greg http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/tanks-made-to-order-vp64319.html#64319 Jetskisteve sometimes have live rock. PM him. Most fish and inverts can be bought here. Auckland is soo close to the ocean, people just buy big barrels and pump the water in there on high tide. Have not heard of anyone delivering NSW. Welcome back to Jafaland!
  14. I can't fit her in my tank, but great photo's once again!
  15. Anyone want to swap some baby GBA's with a couple of whiptails???
  16. Funny you should mention Xenia. I was wondering why my Xenia's were looking a little sad. Thanks for the tip!
  17. Yes, I'll be stopping the addition! Anyone got any Acro's frags! Maybe now they will thrive. Had tried them a while ago and they didn't do well. Thanks for the comments.
  18. Thanks Steve for your help. Using Salifert testing kit here's the results of my water chemistry... 7.7 dkH Over 500 ppm for Calcium (we only tested upto 500) 1270 Mg Steve can't understand how my tank can sustain the high Calcium. Any comments welcome. Cheers.
  19. Wow, this looks like an outboard motor!
  20. I'm interested in getting a pair of whiptails, but don't know whether they will be compatible with my groups of Golden and Brown Bristlenoses. Anyone have any ideas or have this combination? Cheers
  21. Hi Hazy, Found this site which might help you... http://www.reefs.org/library/talklog/f_marini_020799.html
  22. I haven't been very scientific about how I put CA in the water. I have the liquid Calcium +3 Red Sea at the moment so finishing this off. Been putting a squeeze in every week. dkH has remained the same. It was on 7dkH, but had added bicarb which had raised it by 1dkH. Will get my water tested by someone else just to confirm it is not my test kit (which is a couple of months old )
  23. Ok, after a retest here's the result: 8dkH 620 ppm CA
