Baking soda and aeration thru skimming. Baking soda will sort it in a matter of hours. 1 x heaped teaspoon per 300 litres of tank water will raise PH by approx 2KH.

As soon as your nitrites have dropped to zero, do a 50% water change and start adding hardy fish like damsels or chromis to keep the system moving. Nearly there!

I do belive it would assist with the cycling process....I think you would have to trial it!

Re-built entire Right hand side of tank yesterday. Another 15 or 20 kilo of LR added, (Thanks to Skuzza)! (Plus another Stream)! Yeah....!!! It has completed tank now. Real Happy! :lol:

Same, I consume 5 tablespoons of Alk per week! Thats a lot of sleletal structure even wothout the Calcium.

Cool, You should notice a huge positive impact, if JUST the skimmer has reduced the colour. Sounds like the other skimmer wasnt actually even working hardly! You'll love it!

Thats fine too, but selling you DELTEC products is unethical, Why didnt he sell you an aquamedic skimmer? They used to say they were better. Ask NIck his business partner. Tried to say to me it was the best on the market....pfffft.

NO, Its not competition....its an agency. Just like FORD or HOLDEN. You wouldnt be able to get hold of brand new vehicles and undercut Giltrap HOLDEN would you, nor would you expoect to. Whats the bloody difference. REEF has a signed contract with these suppliers, JUST LIKE FORD or HOLDEN. Parallel importers ARE assholes and make a hell of a lot of genuine businesses suffer. There should be rules against it. THE WAREHOUSE DOESNT even PARALLEL ImPORT, they just import normally.

Getting your own from overseas is fine and on selloing is a bit different to getting your own stuff. Unfortunately its not the supplier who makes the product so high. Blame the LFS. Their mark ups are criminal. Steve, if you took my agency, I would try and steal your one also, (If you are the agent anyway). Who is the agency for Aquamedic anyway? As far as I know, you aren't and I aint seen any in the shops.

Personally, I think if someone has acvheived to get an agency, then they should have the right to sell that particular product. Reef has the Deltec brand and Deltec ha sChosen him to be the genuine agent supply proper warranties etc. I could impoort my own streams and skimmers from the same manufacturers within a day or so, but because I own and run a couple of businesses, I just wouldnt do that. If you undercut or parallel import whilst knowing you are directly in the same nicvhe market as another you are simply an a**hole.
