  1. $350.00 NZ maybe. $350.00 USD complete rip off. After the market has been flooded for about a year, the prices will drop considerably. I will be waiting!
  2. Available in a couple of weeks. the Jardines version which are known to better bubble eaters than the pacific ones.

    Japanese tank

The guy/gal must have NO life outside of fishies. Unless he's so rich he employs someone full time to run it and clean it. (Then they are very on to it).
  4. You could always drill holes in the sides of the overflows a bit lower if you have to.
  5. I have to agree. Duke, can you lower them a bit or is it too late? (Not the holes, just the glass bits.)
  6. Baking soda if raised anywhere between 8 and 12 kH will 99% guarantee the correct ph. Baking soda is the BEST way to raise ph. (Indirectly through Carbonate hardness).
  7. I reckon the level will sit about 20mm above the lip if you run a moderately powerful return, say like a 4000LPH. I think you have problems with anything bigger, Even 4000 may br too much. Ive been looking at it and think it may be noisy...trying to think how to dampen it ....
  8. Looks like youve been playing with a lot of ideas. Cool....It will be interesting to see how the overflow operates and whether it will be noisy or not. Keep coming with the pics!
  9. You might have had a fussy one.
  10. Hey you guys, have your got the Jardines red sea sailfin or the indo pacific sailfin? Im needing one. Craig
  11. My advice would be to add another 1 inch hole to the existing overflow and use this as a backup feed or a complimentary feed. You are welcome to inspect my system if you like, works extremely well is 100% quiet and you can duplicate now before water is in place. Let me know. 2200 lph is not enough for 450 litres IMO.

They're supposed to drop in a few days. The coralks are using them. Get the levels up first and maintain every 5-7 days with medchem stuff. I got some here if you need some.

Is that a pic of a wasp, Wasp?

    Bio Digest

Not the bio digest.....Reef? amino's, yes.

    Bio Digest

Bio digest is a bacterial culture apparently designed to bilogically digest unused nutrients.. Re the name Bio digest. I have started also and have noticed increased water clarity within 48 hours, Impressed) Low nutrient tanks could benefit from vitamins, hence the use of coral trace and aminos. Im giving them a shot......see how they pan out.

And wasp....yip, thats what I meant.

    the ''tingle''

I would also say that the likes of us with large tanks and lots of equipment will always have some leakage. Im running just over 2KW with everything on. After all the stuff IS plonked underwater. Of course there will be some leakage. I agree with Ira when he talks about magnetic fields. Electricity and magnetism are the same thing and just a coil of wire somewhere makes a magnetic field. Tank heaters are complete electric coils for exmaple. I believe every tank will have some leakage, just the small ones wont show as much.

    Speed's Tank

Very nice speed, you take a better shot than Reef too!! 8)

    the ''tingle''

Ground probing is not good for the tank. When there is a slight elec. fault such as proven by tingling, normally the tank doesnt get earthed unless you are working on it. if you run a probe continuosly there is a chance you are CONTINUALLY grounding all the tank inhabitants also. There will be potential differences between one end of their body and the other. Its probably usually too small too affect them, but if something does fault whilst a ground probe is attached there is a chance they could be fried. I get fairly heavy tingles if i work on the tank/sump with no shoes on. the current goes straight through me into the ground. I hate it, but still wont use a ground probe OR RCDs. Too easy to fault and kill power to the tank.

    the ''tingle''

Probably the lights. Just moisture and salt will conduct through to the water. even if you turn off all things IN the tank, the lights may cause it.
