Thought I'd stick a pic of this small acro up and record its growth, colour etc. It looks like an interesting coral.
  5. Sweet dude.. No worries.
  6. Big change drifty...Looking great!!
  7. Thats what Im worried about!!
  8. four and a half months from pic one to pic three!
  9. 3 different shots: The growth is phenomenal! First taken 1 February 2006 second taken 1 March 2006 Third taken 17 June 2006
  10. Up to you. In a tank that size I would say yes. Larger tanks with more sump volume can get away a bit longer if not at all. But yours, i would do every 4 - 6 weeks with a water change.
  11. Vodka is the best method. 1 ml per 100 litres for about 8-12 weeks. This will remove nutrients for it to grow. Slow down on feeding a bit too. Not too much, just a bit. DON'T OVERDOSE MORE THAN THIS. Triple disteilled Smirinov works best for my tank.
  12. has it.....(spelling)!
  13. Ha sit got small air bubbles attached to it, (The black stuff)?
  14. is the skimmer getting much crap out?
  15. starfire or diamante glass scratches easier and the colour difference is not that much to worry about IMO. Overflow in the centre bad idea for access. Rectangular in corner. You will need access on a regular basis. Only my opinion.
  16. Completely agree KP!!!
  17. What lights are you running and do you have a sump?
  18. No, this isnt normal. Yes, siphon the crap out. You may not have enough current flow or light. How many litres and what type of skimmer? Are you adding any additives, if so what type.

    Is someone having a baby?
  20. I have an interesting question. Has there, or is there any studies done on whether stable temperatures over a 24 hour period is beneficial to reef tanks? Or, is a 2 degree swing normal in the wild? Any info would be good. Any threads out there?
  21. It can be called whatever, but energy cannot be converted up or down. It can be altered sideways, but thats it. a 400watt bulb uses more power therefore creates more energy, therefore more available energy, light and heat for your tank. Obviously this is without talking about inefficiencies.
  22. Iintensity is one thing, however wattage is energy, You will never change that. 400 watt is going to be better for coral than 250 watt if over 600mm. Reflectors will act like power steering and assist.
  23. blup, blup, blup!!!
  24. where are the nice bubbles?
