  1. Yes, i've been told to feed them somewhere separate from the tank, and keep them out of the tank for an hour to excrete waste before they go back in. Not sure about bubba turtles though.

  4. What kind of puffers? I am after a dwarf/malabar puffer (still on HFF waiting list  ) and if you are looking in to getting some in i am happy to pay for both the fish and share the costs of bringing them over if we can add one or two more to the shipment for me. PM me if you can help or are interested in banding together on a puffer quest (Too much coffee on a monday morning)
  5. I missed joining in on the group molly hunt , and jim and his wife are ANGELS for waiting for the two clueless aucklanders to show up... But my friend Ben and i went down and had a good muck around, and kept at least 30 mollies - some bubbas at .5 cm, and the rest at around 2.5-3cm. I got a surprise in one of my nets - the fish we saw were all about that size, but then i got a big fat one, about 4.5cm long. Had to bring him home... I came home to find i was minus a heater - it was sitting in the bottom of the tank i had ready to go, with the bottom smashed. Only one of the suction cups were still on the tank wall, so i guess it fell :-? . So the mollies are back in their bucket in the spare room (which stays nice and warm, especially with another heated tank in there). Not ideal, but it will do until i can nip in this arvo for another heater. So while they're in the bucket i haven't been able to check out their colours yet (Nice pic HandS) - at the moment they just look a kind of creamy yellow/grey It was great to meet everyone that was still around when i got there  - a fantastic day, despite going completely mad and anxious between 6:30 and 9:30am because i couldn't get hold of my driver!!!! (I broke out the big guns and got his mommy to find him, haha!!) Also, anyone that wants some mollies, let me know

I got the tank - 28 litres, thanks to farmgirl. Setting it up now, he's going to lurrrve it No i didn't list the dimensions of the small tank - too ashamed. If memory serves i think it's like...3/4 gallon? I've only ever used it as a hospital tank. Thinking about getting some small type snails and letting them breed like mad and fill that tank up - the babies would be some nice live food for my clown loaches.

  15. Sounds awesome!! One/a few big long tank/s?
  16. hehe, pass the obsession down the generations - when i have my big fatty clowns, and my grandkids are old enough, i'll buy them some little baby clowns
  17. My master plan is that by the time my clowns get bigger, i'll have my own house, and will have a MASSIVE long feature tank in a living room where they can grow to their hearts content
  18. I'm gonna get some, though i don't have that much space for it to grow out of the tank...
  19. 8) nice avatar pic evil - from your tank? May have to get me some of those.... preeetttttyyyy.....

  22. Oooohh..... Wikipedia is encouraging....
  23. I didn't realise that kuhli loaches were those awesome busy little wormy-looking things!!!! What should i know if i'm thinking of getting some? Eg: how many should i get, how big do they get, how much space do they need, do they have any special requirements, etc? I have lace gourami, bettas, rosy tetras, clown loaches, BN's, a small red-spot pleco, and will soon have mollies and kribs. Will the kuhli clash with any of these? Lol whenever i went in to the shop i always went to visit them but never asked anyone - i thought they were some kind of eel!! Haha.... Thanks guys!!! :bounce:
  24. Cool thanks - don't suppose there's a nice sat map for the molly swamp? Including good "fishing" spots?
