hi jude i have just recently setup a livebearer breeding setup. i have a sump underneath with filter media, heaters, UV filter and king 4 pump. will post a picture to show you what it looks like.
my wcmm still alive, but gone a bit pale and inactive, so i brought them back into the house, and now they are happy as like it is spring mating season.
Great shop it is. i have seen Blue King Cobra Guppy at petworld in chch. while i was back there for holiday. having tried the linebred Leopard Tail Guppis and paying for $12.95 ea and found out they are infertile makes me walk away.
i would suspect it is true. as i found out if you cross a non virgin to a new male ...some % of the youngs may resemble the father. but not 100% for sure, depend on the gene of the father and the mother.
oh man..is that right? i didnt know that. 75% of desired fry is pretty good % to work with. i would normally work with virgin females as they give me 100% desired fry. but then virgin females are hard to find unless you grew up them yourself. :-?
how do you know it is NZ pure bred? or just by the breeder claiming it is. Most likely will be the breeder bought these imported KOI fish and breed them in NZ. this doesnt mean the strain is originally bred in NZ.
