sorry for posting it here, wasnt too sure if i could post it in the other section, i do have a couple of other fish in there there just hiding from my 2 year old son who was in the room aswell.

thanks for the replys, ive changed it so now its angled at the glass, even with the valve fully open it amazing how well the glass slows the movement of water. the discus are swimming around all happy like again

hi if i have the input hose to the filter fully open and the output only half open to reduce flow for my discus tank will it wreck the filter or harm the fish? i would just put a big spray bar on it but my tank has a 2" lip around the top and cant find a big enough elbow to get around the bend, any ideas

cheers for replying, im not really against the idea of a sump just dont really no how they work etc, or how to do it myself! does anyone have any pics of how they work,how to set them up ??

hi i am thinking about getting a hex tank about 80-100 ltrs, what filteration would you use with out having a sump as i want it to be in the centre of a room? i want only live sand,rock and 2 clowns(fish), is it possible?

i already have the marine bulbs ( 4 of them ) runnng in the tank and just got some discus, so just wanted to check if it would affect them( the discus ) and see if its worth buying fw ones.the plant growth is good so wasnt too sure what to do. thanks for replying IRA.

hi what will happen if i use marine lights in a tropical tank?is it bad and all my fish will die or will they be alright?

hi i was wondering if anyone could please help me i am faily new to s/water and would like to know everything that is needed to keep a 3' tank woth 2 clowns and some corals without haveing to get a sump etc., i know about lights, heater, test kits, but what size skimmer,powerheads etc will i need?any help would be great as i would like to know exactly what i needed before going out and buying anything. thanks

could try turning up the temp that seems to help with most other sicknesses, just a thought.

they were all in the same tank, i think the only thing that can't be replaced is the red tail cat.

yeah it is a really sad thing to happen, no im pretty sure they lost the red devils as well.

i dont know if anyone knows but wet pets had a bad day on tuesday just gone, they lost there 1m red tail cat,a huge pacus,2 big borneo tigers.they dont know what happened when they got to work in the mourning they were all dead, they managed to save 1 pacus, a clown knife fish and 2 pleco's.a bit of bad news just thought id let ya know.

hey dan, what do you keep in your native marine?do you have corals etc?? is it very hard to keep ive been thinking of starting one up but didnt think we have corals,anemones? do you keep fish?if so what sort? if you could tell me abit about it that would be great. thanks carl

hi is it possible to screw/nail driftwood togeather to stop it from falling if the fish bump into it?has anyone done it or have a better way to do it?i have 2 bits of wood i would like to stick on top of each other and dont want them to fall over,any help would be great. thanks

hi will i need a skimmer etc or can i get by with a external and salt water???what else will i need?

i have a 450ltr tank at the moment thats got nothing in it, would that be bigg enough?what are some other fish like that that i could keep??how much for a skimmer etc?sorry for the questions.
