the only noise they make is jumping around other than alot of munching on grass.They take their moisture requirements from the fresh grass and the whole thing is heated by light bulb etc to around 30 deg so it is quite dry and no smell.

ps, have had alot more errors with crickets/locusts than with beardies too!!

i would go for locusts ahead of crickets,found that by trial and error too!They grow alot faster,bigger,if you don`t want them big feed them out sooner.All you need is a breeding cage,a rearing cage and a supply of fresh green grass,some breeders and your away.Cages can be as simple as a big cardboard carton with a heat source and acess hole/door to get your food in and out and to retrieve the ones you want .I have plastic coffee cups filled with moistened pumice sand in a shallow cardboard tray,these are changed for fresh ones once a week and taken away,covered and incubated for a couple of weeks.I have 4 rearing cages and empty one each week and start a new batch each week,all depends how many you need but you can sell surplus or even freeze them for later use.

more or less as you say but not as simple as you put it.you have to do your homework and setup the right systems for the creatures you wish to breed.There are alot of hard-won things to learn along the way,trial and error is the way to go.

all I can say is have a look at the mouth and mouth parts of a tadpole.

David Attenborough`s tadpoles are a completly different species from a completly different continent.(have seen that too)

not really carniverous by any stretch of the imagination?have seen them sucking on dead ones but don`t think for one second they even have the mouth parts to remove an eye let alone for 5 out of 8 to survive such an injury??some people say the strangest things and whats even stranger is they believe it????

my female has two bulges,quite large about chest height?

they have a little capsule/egg sac that hangs out for a while as it forms then they drop it off here and there.Never actually bred them as such but have hatched a few of the egg case/pods that I have found.We have heaps so you can just catch what you want,mind you they are real quick in hot weather!

haven`t got any myself but have seen coarse pine bark chips used more than once and the blueys seemed to like burrowing under whenever they wanted to?

I wonder if with the natives a uv sterilizer would be good for whitespot?it seems to be the bane of the natives.I remember I got some bandeds for the napier aquarium years ago and they got smothered with it in no time.

some were,some are nz bred,some are confiscations from smuggling attemps,some are really old.

she usually lays 4-5 at a time and have had 4 lots at three week intervals is her best run,last year was only one lot of 4 duds this year 2 of 4 each with 6 good ones.You have to take what you get and be thankful.have another one coming out today from the first 2 eggs and 4 more good ones in 3 weeks,fingers crossed.

yeah,like in the wild in a desert they may have acess to the odd grain or two?there could be the argument that some sand is beneficial to their digestion and mineral uptake?By the way in aussie what is their main source of calcium?the food they eat or their environment as for tortoises(limestone deposits etc,where there is no limestone there are no tortoises)anyone care to enlighten me?
