    Hello all

Welcome. Where is Matheson Bay? Sounds like you already have a bad dose of MTS - keep away from me, I don't need any more infection ............. Hope you finds heaps of info here Cheers Jude
  6. I've used stick on ones and the ones that sit in the water. None of them are very accurate. I just bought a new heater for one of the tanks because the thermometer was telling me it was too cold. I tried turning the old one up but the thermometer didn't change. Then I found out it was the thermometer, not the heater that was faulty Are there any reliable ones out there? Cheers Jude
  7. Its all very confusing isn't it. I have what I thought was anubias barterii (from caryl) and it looks like a bigger leaved anubias nana - roundish leaves and nothing like this plant. Lets hope we get it solved Cheers Jude
  8. I was thinking it is the Peace Lily. If it is that will explain why it isn't growing. It will eventually die because it will only grow submerged for a short period of time. Cheers Jude

    Hello from Dunedin

Sounds great to me and I love the sound of your fishroom. You will really benefit from the time you have spent planning out what you need in it. Maybe you could ask for suggestions in the DIY section from those with fishrooms about what they wish they had done in theirs............. just a thought Good luck, I look forward to hearing progress reports Cheers Jude

    Hello from Dunedin

Welcome May. I'm jealous, your tank sounds great. But I have one important question - have you allowed room for all the other tanks when you catch multiple tank syndrome?
  18. I'm not laughing and I doubt anyone else will either. The only way to find out stuff is to ask I will be interested in the answer because I don't know what the L is for either altho I've worked out it is how the plecos are classified? classed? identified? something!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers Jude
  19. Welcome, sounds like you already have multiple tank syndrome. I warn you, it can only get worse    Cheers Jude

If you have real whitebait and I find out you fed it to the fish instead of me, I will never speak to you again
  22. Grow low light plants Anubias don't like much light and I think java fern would be ok too. There are others but I'm not sure of which ones. Ambulia will grow almost anywhere I think Cheers Jude
  23. Mine lie around all day every day
  24. Welcome Linda, glad to see you are already benefitting from the site. I love the sound of your tank but as I have very short arms (all of me is very short)  I think I will have to stick to shorter ones Cheers Jude
  25. Red plants need lots of light to thrive. I also have some aquatic clay in the base of my tanks and that seems to keep things growing beautifully. I also have co2 and I add a drop of chelated iron daily. Like you, I don't have enough lighting for the red plants though. Cheers Jude
