  1. I didn't know you were a Stephanie Plum fan as well. Guess I should have realised seeing we have so many other tastes in common. And I thought you would have put "as often as possible" in the sex category Cheers Jude - the unashamed fish eater
  2. You'd get backache doing the dishes in the baff. I use the sink. Oh, sorry, you said buff? LOL, they must have a well heated house - I didn't think anyone in Central Otago took their clothes off in winter
  3.   Are they worth looking at? I guess I should ask Reid that, men always think they are worth admiring! Cheers Jude

    Starting all over

Welcome Kbird, I am sure you will learn heaps here. I agree with Caryl about the cycling thing, so long as things are done slowly and carefully it would be OK - after all, people had successful tanks well before all this knowledge was available Cheers Jude

  9. Fantastic photos Paul - what camera do you use? Cheers Jude
  10.  Vapo I get bubbles on the surface of my tanks from time to time. They don't seem to bother anything and they go away again. If they don't go away maybe you need to do a small water change but I don't think its anything to worry about Cheers Jude
  11. Its also possible that chakuna's fish died of something else and got nibbled at once it was dead. Eating a mate doesn't seem to bother fish   Cheers Jude

  15. Hi Debs It looks nice and bright   Take photos at night. Put as much light as possible onto the tank and turn off the room lights. Get the camera as close as possible to the tank. Cheers Jude
  16. LOL - I was waiting for someone to point out that this way they wouldnt suffer as long Cheers Jude
  17. I thought the reason for not having a heater bigger than you need is that they can stick 'on'. A bigger heater will cook your fish much faster if that happened. Cheers Jude

    Leopard Sword

Thanks plantman It has lots of leaves but hardly any root so far. I am a bit worried that it has less root than before - could those blasted ungrateful fish be nibbling at it?  There is another node about halfway up that seems to be growing leaves too - so maybe I will end up with several baby plants Cheers Jude
  20. The Leopard Sword that Suphew gave me now has a stalk that reaches the surface with a baby sword growing on it. There are a few small roots but I don't know when I should remove it. I am really keen to grow another one so should I leave it until there are more/longer roots or does it eventually float off by itself, or what? Cheers Jude

    Hi all,

Welcome. I am sure you will learn heaps here, I know I have. A group of us gets together at about 9pm in the chat room. I hope you can join us there sometimes Cheers Jude
  22. Hi Caper How's everyting and how's your friend who had the heart op? Bottled water seems an expensive way to go. Can you get some water ager and use tap water? I think Mollies prefer brackish water but will be ok in fresh water - not sure about that though Cheers Jude
  23. Hope you have lots of luck breeding them. It seems as though they are always in demand Cheers Jude
  24. Welcome from me too. It sounds as though you've had fish for a while but I'm sure you will learn heaps here. Cheers Jude
  25. Can we come and see your tanks in a years time? At your present rate there should be about 100 by then .................   Cheers Jude
