I'm on leave and have finally got time to potter - the fish don't know whats hit them. I've rearranged my little 2' tank and removed 2 large albino cats, 10 minnows, a dozen or more rosy barbs and a medium sized bn. I left 10 cardinals, 2 little gba's and 2 tiny baby pepper cories in there and added a male siamese fighter. It looks good but all the fish are at the bottom, even the fighter spends a lot of time mooching round the gravel. What could I put in there to swim in the middle space? Obviously the tank can't take much more but considering what I've removed I think it could handle a couple more. Would swordtails be OK or would they nip at the fighter? Suggestions please. Yes thats right Pegasus. But it wasn't her who got infected through a badly neglected fishtank, it was another woman. However it was apparently the same bug. And I agree, you should always be careful when cleaning tanks Cheers Jude

and be careful - wear gloves if necessary. I read in a magazine about a woman who caught the same bug that ummmmm - you know, the blonde sporty woman who was on tv all the time - anyway, the bug that nearly killed her. It nearly killed the woman who wrote the article too. Cheers Jude

Its a 3' tank so I was thinking of about 10. However I will start off with about 4 while I am cycling the tank. Yep, another BBQ sounds good but hopefully the day won't be as hot as last time. I don't think we could fit any more people under the tree :lol: :lol: Cheers jude

LOL Blue, thats exactly what's worrying me. Maybe I should devise a yoyo trap - a bit like the ones I used to make as a kid. A cardboard box, a stick, and a bit of string - supposed to be great for catching birds. I spent hours and hours doing that and didn't catch a single bird :lol: :lol: :lol: I do plan to completely redo the tank at some stage so it might have to be then. Not looking forward to trying to catch everything in it though. Cheers Jude

Yes its heated, and the deck is covered. I had the tanks set up there last summer and everything thrived. Moved the fish indoors over winter to save on heating costs Cheers Jude

I've set up the tank on my deck again and I plan to use it for a school of Tiger Barbs. They were going to be the only fish in there but now I'm wondering whether some bristlenoses will be ok with them. If I can catch him, I might also add my yoyo loach because he's starting to get a bit aggro in the community tank. Any comments? Suggestions? Words of warning? Cheers Jude

Mine have bred twice because I have a baby in each tank - they may have bred more often but they are in a community tank and so far I've only seen the two survivors
