Naughty boys not surposed to use real names. Anyway I'm splashing out on the real thing, did some checking and Reef is asking a fair price, picking up on Wednesday will up date on what I think of them. P.S. Frog had a fit at the price $1300.00 plus $60.00 for each magnet holder. That's for TS24"S=2 powerheads with controller. Up goes the overdraft again. To be fair Pies at least I had somewhere to buy them, I also think it's great to have a DIY alternative for choice. I used this with DIY Co2 for the freshwater, I would love to be able to afford the real thing for my freshwater plants.

I don't know what will happen when we are past running the shop guess we will just have to close it, don't think the locals will like that, thats the problem with living at work

How much water movement do I need for a planted tank does anyone use powerheads in their tanks?

I have a few orange hairy crabs that hide and one that won't let me put any thing in its house keeps kicking it out

Sept. 2004 Atempt one killed most of my plants trying to kill the black hair algae

April 2004 Over growth, phosphate problems ,black hair algae. Seem to come after my fish got worms and had to treat the tank.SOooooo!!!next pic<>

I solved this problem with a 100mm strip of glass front and back still leaves the centre free, got sick of lifting off the lids to feed etc and they were always getting salt splashes and for ever cleaning the lids. so far haven,t lost any more fish from jumping been about 6 weeks.

I have had alot of trouble getting my plants to grow well. Went to Rotorua for 4 days last week hunted down the LFS (WONDERWORLD AQUARIUM & PET CENTRE) Ardie Drummond, nice guy we talked over my problem and he sold me (oh no I can't remember the brand) but anyway it was base stuff then you put your fine pebbles on top same brand. Had to strip the tank and start from bottom up poor fish, they made it alright did'nt hurt any saved all the water so it didn't shock them, and replanted. All the plants are looking good and I really like the look of the new gravel. I have got a heavy load of fish can't help myself same with my marine but I decided enough is enough NO more fish. I would love some Arazona plants sword and things but can't seem to find them in the LFS maybe someone could help me there (would be prepared to pay good price) Will take some pics and show before and after soon.
