Pies; Have I missed something whats stopping you buying wholesale you know the importers personally, is it MAF dont they allow importers to sell direct to the public. If so perhaps club members could try and deal with the retailers to try and organize a discount for club members producing a membership card something like AA card. Or cards that get stamped with every purchase not just coral when its full you get a voucher to use with your next purchase, I'm surprised shops aren't already doing this because it keeps you shopping at the same shop, most big garden centers use this system.

I just had a look at the photos of our first tank the leather on the top is the huge thing I've got in my big tank now

Tank was the smallest part of the cost all up cost approx 2 thousand. We already had the base Frog just had to make it square, which cost a bit for the timber because its rimu. The base was my first marine tank I will scan a photo and put it on my site it will make you smile when you compare the size we have now, use to run the first tank off a Ehime Filter and standard floros worked ok just have to watch what you put in it. This new tank runs off the sump of the big tank I upgraded the return pump on the big tank and used the old pump for the new one a bit powerfull had to put a tap on it so we can turn it down to suit overflow. Frog also made the band for around the top again rimu which supports the lights, they were the most costly part by the time you buy the units then the tubes it all adds up. Hosing was about 2 hundred that including moving the sump and plumbing to the chiller which is in the basement. More rock for both tanks was 3 hundred and needed 2 more power filters. All was purchased from Hollywood, they had our big tank made also.

Yea it's happened before not to this one it's not able to reach it yet will keep an eye on it, it loves its new tank and spreading daily( oh no Frog don't say the tanks not big enough)

forgot to say the lighting used set of t5's and set for power compacts I won Frog thanks for the help on that guys it did need both the anemone is very happy no transfer signs

New Tank FINISHED!! Except; what to do with all the power leads??lots and lots of them and power boards all surrounding Frogs TV :oops: Poor Frogs not happy can you get something big to support it all? any suggestions. Thanks for suggestion Alois it was a piece of cake catching the clowns at night, the fire siren woke me at 4.30am so I got up and did the deed couldnt believe how easy it was. When I transferred the big anemone Frog looked in the tank see I transferred one of my other fish which must have been sleeping in the rock any way pleased with the finished result <>then I had to fix the gap in the big tank :evil: <>

Brendon I was (thinking) can you use zeolite rock for fresh water to help improve quality, I have had a lot of trouble with the tank since they got worms and had to do big water changes then they got white spot just fixed that but have concerns about building up the water quality again. I thought I could use the spare part of the zeolite bag in the canister filter,what do you think?

Yes Jetski we can get sharks in the river out at Port Waikato thats why Frog used to take the waterski boat up to the bridge didnt like the idea of his legs hanging under the water never did learn not to fall off, never heard of an attack out here and all the locals use the wharf as a swimming hole in the summerSundays all that rolled icecream no staff and Frog up stairs making the band for around the top of the new tank. By the way the seal Frog took a photo of came up to a whitebaiter the other week and roared at him he said he nearly s his pants and had to get out of the water when he was chest deep and holding a big net I can just see it what a laugh Oh and did you know they have put restrictions on jetskis in the river now<>not permitted to go up the river but still can go down from the wharf and over the bar. I'm using this thread because I know it will get your attention, I haven't had time to come on line because I have been using all my spare time setting up the new tank, came on site to catch up tonight. Whoo I thought women were surposed to be bitches or am I insulting my own gender I thought we are all surposed to be friends!!! I really hope so. Between prices and Zerovit its left me with an unpleasant feeling, I own a retail shop so I know what costs are, reef keeping is no different than other hobbies I am a very keen gardener and used to work part time for a garden centre( also high care product) with stock loss, staff, POWER etc. As for Zerovit or any other products we try surely we can all comment on our experiences without running down others>I'm currently using Zerovit, but always like to read of others< I would also like to thank those that have helped me and have found that joining this site has been GREAT, lots of help from freshwater and marine has helped to get things right. Although I have found tonights read very entertaining I might have been reading about the weather thats crape too BE NICE GUYS Thats my two cents worth. Hope the weather gets better soon. FAY

I would love to come but weekends are our mad days in the shop, maybe if jetski is ever home on a Wednesday would love to see the tank.

Got the T5s cost more than the PCs it only came with a controller unit so will have to fix it to the top band. It has two tubes marine white and marine blue actinic both 24w will this be enough light? Tank 600x600x550high

I wanted T5s but was told they only come as small as 3ft my tank will be 2ft square. and I want to sit them inside the top band. P.S. The room has windows all round but well vented, I hope I wont have any trouble with the tank because of this, but it might help with the lighting.

the tank will only have a band around the top to match my big one and unable to hang halide, would have to bracket it from the wall. Also the tank will be in our line of view over the waikato river so would rather not block it. Plus!!!!!! halide is a lot more in cost dont forget I already had to grease Frog to get the tank in the first place.

Hollywood and yes I will prob. get two lights I dont Know much about them untill I go up town wed.

610x610x570high we already had the cabinet to match the big tank good old Frog just had to make it sqaure, just as well he is a ex cabinet maker by trade. I bet you all are having a good chuckle about this. The tank will run off the main sump so it will up the litres per fish to help my over stocking problem some. My main concern is the lighting I am intending to use power compact lights because it is only housing enemones and I cant suspend metal pendants where the tank will be. I have concerns for my enemone that I will be transfering because it is directly under 250 metals at the moment any comments would be a help please.
