I've been advised to use the carbon Jansens package, Brendan said it has never tested possitive.

I don't know about cheap I asked for the best carbon at Hollywoods

We had an 11 hour power cut last winter, Frog borrowed the firestation genny for the tanks. We had to hire big ones for the shop in the end, but they still weren't powerfull enough to run our big chiller. P.S. It was the laugh of the town save the tanks never mind the icecreams

A person that used to import years ago and is no longer in the hobby, Told Frog that he has known of marine tanks crashing and losing everything even to the most experienced. Does this still happen these days?

Have you tested the carbon you use; could be adding Phosphates to your tank.

Wasp; Had a good talk with Brendan about all your suggestions, answer<> yes to all (Thanks for that.) So up start to twice a day, getting more rock posted start changing monthly till things clean up and I bought a timer in town today to do the 3 on 3 off. Just gone on to new carbon Brendan said the brand I was using tested possitive for phosphates, bit of a blow I used it all can't test it know running a test on new lot seems ok will check in morning.

Yes that's what Brendan said to.( Have to be patient) have checked top up no phosphates feeding twice a day and have sneaked up with the amount per feed trying to fatten up my sick fish( naughty girl) Thats why I said it's hard to judge Zeovit, hope to sable things out from now on, will keep posted. Sick fish has put on a bit of weight here's hoping( feeding well and comes out to sift sand again.)

So whats causing phoshpates over feeding again?

Call me dumb if you like but I can't tell the difference when you are having me on, so please keep to the facts so I don't end up doing something to damage my reef tank. Plus new comers to the hobby will be gettting totally confused

Reef Really happy with streams; Next question I would like to get the smallest one possible for my 2foot square tank, can I run it off the same controller and would the smallest still be to powerful. P.S. couldn't use the magnet holders not enough turn only suitable for straight ahead flow, so have stuck with the brackets once I figured out how to use them seem to do a better job for me.

Results after using as directed for four months: Nitrates:was 20 down to 15 Phosphates:was 3 down to 2 So as you can see I'm not having a quick fix, having a soft coral tank my reason for using Zeovit was to fix my water problems. Slow response could be adding new rock and sand to tanks. Feeding heavy to help sick fish. Just started using Zeovit recommend filter December 2004. Will post once a month results to see if I have movement now I have stopped mucking around with the tanks Brendan any other suggestions; Approx 650ltr in tanks running off same sump adding 2.5ml Zeostart daily 6 drops of Zeobak twice a week 6 drops of Zeofood twice a week running 2 litres Zeovit rock in filter Cleaning rock twice daily changing 5% water weekly not using any other means of removing Phosphates as recommened Running carbon changing weekly Reef I don't know why my Anemone split if you need clean water can't get much worse than this.

So is that about 4 of us using or is there more out there???

The process of shifting and Anemone is tricky you have to be very careful not to tear its foot. Here it is with it's brother and sister attaching to a rock I placed by it.

Skuzza Have you got your Calcium levels down a bit, maybe you could stop dosing Kalkwasser for a while.

Hi, Welcome to reef keeping you will need Seachem Reef Buffer( Raises pH,) available from both Hollywoods and Jansens ring them first to make sure they have it in stock. I think the products you have are for freshwater. I haven't been keeping up with the site to busy have you told us about your set up if not we would like to know what you have and your plans. You will find the guys on here very helpfull.
