    Pepper Cory's

no problem getting them to lay in large numbers jsut can't get to them before they eat them. They are mature fish but have not been breeding before i got them. Will split and feed up some more. Also thinking of dropping pairs into a 14 x 7 x 7 with cold water the night before then remove the fish the next day. Will have a play over the next wee while.
  3. True, then pay to dump the rest I have some i think will work Hmm, good point, will do that. If it doesn't work the will pull the hot water in which will be easy ast the gas system is just outside the garage. Andrew_W Trying to avoid drums as i am limited on space both inside and out of the room.
  4. Keep an eye on your numbers ph change was mentioned. http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php ... ki+spawned Anyone know anything about hormone treatment?
  5. I have had fish fry with two heads. In the perfect world you may not breed brother and sister but with how rare these are in nz then you don't have much to work with.
  6. sand the edges like dixon said. If you do it so there are no nasty edges and all is smooth then it will be fine.
  7. Ok so im wanting to design a auto system for the room giving a % change twice a day on one section of tanks and once a day on the other. Planning on brining in warm water (gas) and cold water into the room and get the mix about right with valves. Will also use a "normally closed solenoid valve" either 12 or 24v (not decided yet) Tanks have a 20mm overflow and will have a 6mm inlet. Questions Could the solenoid valve be hooked up to a standard timer via a 12 or 24v adaptor. and do you find that the flow rates are uneven coming into the tanks? Any suggestions would be great.
  8. Have a group of 5 fish, 2 Females and 2 males and 1 unknown. They spawn ever couple of days and i collect a good number of eggs. The problem is that they tend to lay through the day in smaller numbers and get eaten before i can get into the tank to take them out. You can see where eggs would of been and the would number in the fiftys or sixitys. Never had this problem in the past (few years ago now). Would like to be able to just take a heap out at once then leave them for a while and do it again. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
  9. No, i have only just got them. They are about 20mm at mo. Give it a while
  10. To be fair that was the best photo i could find on.... The parents of the four i have is still a very nice fish though, colour pretty close.

    Who's eggs?

Rams or GBA then?? Doubt that it would be the loaches and no way would it be the tetras as they would not stick to the glass.

  19. I have a 100ml bottle of Levicare Plain Drench = 4% Solution of Levamisole. However i have lost my dosing guide and can't remember how much to add. I used to add it to a smallish tank with the fish in. Can anyone help? Also any idea on how long this would last/go off.
  20. My new female arrived on the 25th Nov, spawned either on the 30th or 1st dec. Looks to be about 30 - 40 eggs. All good at this stage.
